osso
I have noticed lately that the car is struggling to start in this cold weather. yesterday when i started the car it would start up, then it stalled immediately, second time it started up ok. now i dont know whether the car stalled because my foot slipped and applied the gas while the car was starting up or not. The battery is fine, its a heavy duty battery which was installed last year! Coolant looks a very low in the expansion tank, but once the car has warmed up the coolant seems ok, although it could do with topping up, also i am due an oil change. It just seems like its having a hard time turning the engine, so maybe it could be a starter motor problem? Next time i go out im going to start the car with my foot on the clutch pedal, and see if that helps. is anyone else having problems with the supra's in the cold weather? Faye
I have sleepy Supeitis too. Definitely the battery on mine though (one of the few times I look at my voltmeter ), its much lower on juice than it was in the warmer weather.
oilman
What oil are you using in the engine, it may be a tad viscous in this cold weather. Cheers Simon
Pete
Mine is starting better than when it was warm!
Terminator
A good battery should not find this weather a problem. I changed mine a few weeks ago. I had got used to a low battery and had forgotten how much torque the starter has when it has the power it needs.
tbourner
Don't batteries lose a silly amount of their useful power below freezing? Like 5% for every 1 degree below 0 or something? Dunno where I heard that so probably codswallop.
