CJ
Dude, change the sand in your gearbox to oil -Ian "8% drivetrain losses" C I thought the quoted figure seemed very high too. TBH, I felt that the flywheel figure of 430bhp seemed very high compared to the mods in your sig. Thats a 110bhp increase over stock. But I suppose you can only quote the figures given eh? Suprasteve
does the rolling road machine somehow work out the drive train losses or does the human operator simply input a percentage loss manually ? if so where does he get the percentage figure from - the manufacturer ?
Scoboblio
I've been told before at a RR that it works out drivetrain losses by measuring the resistance offered to the rollers when the engine is winding down from max revs - it made sense at the time, but I've since heard several times that that's complete rubbish What's more the rolling road operator who told me that has been known to produce somewhat "interesting" results on supras, especially autos. SteveR
Yea powerstation it was! I should update my sig really spec as follows: full decat, nur spec R, FMIC and SBC-ID3, SSQV Aha! I nipped in there this afternoon and had a chat with the guys there, mantioned there was a impreza club dyro day this morning, and that a Supra was the most powerful car of the day I was actually visiting a scuba shop opposite it and spotted it as I drove in... thought "hang on, 'powerstation'... that rings a bell" - nipped in and had a nose around, they seemed like really decent chaps
Tom
The 120hp loss strikes me as a bit odd!, I'm not totally sure what it is normally but mine was around 70hp, manual too.

damouk
I did not really think of the losses at the time as I was / am happy with the figures that were given, but the losses do look to be quite high

Guest Flat4_ire
The SBC-ID3 had a peak boost of 1.2bar when i got back in man that is serious power for those mods, boost isnt high either
SkyJawa
I'd be more inclined to believe the RWHP figure than the fly figure - those losses seem far too high.............
Bobbeh
I'd estimate you're running around 380-400bhp with those mods after looking at the rolling road output. 26% loss is way too high, try more like 18% on a rolling road. Nice figures anyway
