A new hello - Supra TT Aerotop build

Hi guys & girls,

Joined on here a while back but never really got in amongst the forum much.

We are gearing up to build a Supra here (i own Appreciating Classics Limited).
We have bought a Supra TT Aerotop to build a Paul walker tribute/replica.

At present we are gathering parts for the build, it will be a bare shell rebuild to a high standard and we aim to get as many of the correct parts together for the build as possible.

I have had the itch for a nice Supra for many years, but never got around to having one, although i did bring a beautiful original low mileage TT6 over from Japan a few years ago, i actually ended up selling it to my business partner. Also brought over a really nice spec Aristo which was near 600bhp & manual converted as a personal yet practical toy. I do love a 2JZ.

I hope to document the build on our social media, on youtube and on this forum.
We will also be on the hunt for a few parts that we are still trying to source as well.

Hopefully once finished we could bring it along to a show or two as well.

Thanks,
Rich.

Hi Rich,

Welcome and good luck with the build.

Parts supply is starting to become an issue - you've undoubtedly found this out already.  A few of us are doing shell up rebuilds and can testify to the frustration of not being able to find a new or second hand part.  If you've access to the Yahoo auctions in Japan and have use of a proxy postal address over there, it will likely improve the odds of finding some of the increasingly discontinued parts.

There is a slow trickle of second hand parts available, but knowing the right people is king.

All the best again and do try and post a few pictures on the forum from time to time.

Kind regards,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks very much for the warm welcome.

Yes parts are certainly an issue, especially when looking for such specific parts.
We have managed to source all window trims, roof seals, rear quarter glass and so on.
Also we have the correct wheels for the build which were the biggest worry for us, as well as the correct kit but we do still need to find the correct spoiler.

I will be starting a build thread on here shortly.

Thanks,
Rich

Welcome, if looking to do a replica be sure to check out just driven build on YouTube as they did the same with the guidance of Craig liebermann

biggest issue here is wheels and spoiler, both hardly ever come up for sale.

best of luck and look forward to seeing its progress.

btw, in the just driven video Craig finally releases the correct colour for the car, as Lamborghini had very similar oranges
