Changed Dash Bulbs for LED

Hey guys,

Just as a cautionary note.  I changed the dash LED's for these purchased from eBay.

You guys may not want to use the same bulbs as those above, the dials are nice and bright, and a superb green colour.  But, they do have something of a flicker to them and they don't dim.

If anyone has used some decent bulbs please let me know which you used, but whatever you do, don't use the ones above.

Cheers,

Paul

You can buy 12V LED dimmer modules, whether they would run through or via the original dash dimmer is another question.

Thanks Rider, I'll have a look about.  To be honest, the ones I bought were pretty cheap. I may have to dig deeper into my pockets and buy some better quality ones next.  Still, it's given me good practice taking out the clocks.  It's been about 15 years since I did that but it all came flooding back.

Its a common reported issue, the LED flicker that a LED dimmer is often given as a way to resolve the flicker. There are quite a few listed on eBay and they don't look too tacky so you could just bypass the current dimmer and route the wiring through the LED dimmer and hide that behind the dash. No one actually touches their dimmer switch, my one has been at max brightness for 23 years, so set and left would sort your flicker issue and have the dial illumination set to a level you are happy with.

Now that's a really good idea.  I'll do a search for a wiring diagram and an LED dimmer to hide behind the dash.

Thanks again.
