Samurai 20V
Hi all. Have an issue with my Supra. The low fuel light is remaining on permanently. It does flicker on and off occasionally, but largely it remains on. My research has led me to believe the fuel sender is at fault. Toyota have discontinued the part unfortunately. Can anyone confirm if it is possible to repair it? If it is, can it be done as a DIY job? Thanks. Big Mark
Mine was doing this and I wasn't sure if it was a faulty wire of sender. In the end I bought a used hanger and swapped the sender unit over. It seemed to work tho didn't drive the car much with the new unit before taking it off the road for an overhaul. X13mgr
Pritty surprised no one has said. Try putting fuel in her.
SupraLEDrears
Mine did this along with other lights coming on randomly. Turned out to be the ECU in the end but just change the hanger first and remember to release the fuel fressure first
Samurai 20V
Pritty surprised no one has said. Try putting fuel in her. Just did that, it went off and then came back on 500m away from the garage. Mine did this along with other lights coming on randomly. Turned out to be the ECU in the end but just change the hanger first and remember to release the fuel fressure first Its only the one light.. Samurai 20V
Just to close this off, it was a frayed wire on the sensor.. Managed to get a replacement, but will refurb the original and keep as spare..
Samurai 20V
Gents, the problem has returned.. It was fine at first, just came on randomly whilst driving. Referring the image below (credit to tlicense for the image), the tank baffle is loose. I think its contacting with the sensor and fraying the wire. Could I run without the baffle in the tank? The car splutters on hard acceleration & cornering with the fuel level at 1/4 tank anyway, so I always fill up from there. Does anyone think it will get worse by removing the baffle altogether?
