Dnk Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 I usually just spray with TFR and jetwash them but after my road trip and nearly 3000 miles without cleaning they were in a sorry state. I read some reviews and found this wheel brush called the muc off nook and cranny brush so splashed out £5.58 inc postage I used it a couple of days ago and so far i'm happy with the results, I sprayed with Autosmart TFR then went round with the brush and only hosed them off. No need to get the jetwash out The whole wheel is spotless inc the inside all the way to the inner lip. I tried doing the method some people use of just spray on and wash off - used bilberry wheel cleaner multiple times and it just didnt work, used a microfibre to wipe it down and it looked a lot better. peter richards Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 after a while dunk the handle will snap off , plus the bristles are not long enough to get behind the spokes , normall y this type are free when you buy certain wheel cleaners , im doing a GB atm on one we have designed stainless steel so wont rust. try using a non acidic cleaner dunk TFR isn't that good for wheel cleaning , ok if they are spotless to start , id be worried it would leave streaks,plus those alloys are fiddly I use a detail brush for inbetween the narrow spokes then the large one for the other Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I worked in a bike shop for 4 years that used Muc-off brushes in the workshop and never had a handle snap - different application, sure, but they're not that bad! Nice job on the wheels. I've read that on there page before, only thing it will do is dull polished aluminum surface, nothing that can't be cured with a polish with the likes of auto sol. I rinse thoroughly too.
