Front wipers and rev counter not working :(

Did you check if you have any voltage at the Wiper Motor before changing it?

Presuming there ISN'T, first thing to obviously check is the Fuse.

Regarding your Rev Counter . . . was it working fine and has suddenly stopped . . . or have you been playing about with the wiring? (or is it a completely different engine?)

Roger NE: I had a friend/elextrician run over it before i changed it and it had power going to it, and he checked both sides of all the fuses... The rev counter and everything else was working before i swapped all the bits over from the other car...

David p: i had an NA-t in my pre facelift hartop 5 speed, ive put engine and engine loom into my pre facelift aerotop from keron that started life as an auto but had a gte in before i bought it as a shell for all my bits to go into.

Hope this helps guys

You asked for help with your mongrel combo and I've given you highly probable reasons for why for both eventualities, along with links to threads and videos how to fix one of them it if it is.

You need to take a look and confirm if you have N/A or TT clocks?

Because the GE uses a Distributor and the GTE uses coil packs the signal to Rev Counter is different - that's why it's not working.

As David has told you, you either need to fit a Rev Counter from a GTE, OR (if you're into electronics) modify your GE one by changing the resistors in it.

Regarding your Wipers, again as David, it could be several things, but is probably a Loom incompatibilty, but to fix it will probably just mean cutting and splicing some wires.

But Step 1 is to see whether you have any voltage at the Wiper Motor when you turn on the wiper switch (obviously with the ignition on too)

The N/A clocks will most likely have the resistor as shown in the links above and the TT clocks definitely won't, is the best I can do off the top of my head.

I don't know their part numbers or ever looked to see if they're labelled, maybe another grumpuru knows another easier to spot difference?

The plot thickens.

That's a 2JZA80-GE (N/A) bottom-end, with 2JZA80-GE (N/A) head, 2JZA80-GTE (T.T.) rocker-covers, running GTE coil-packs with blanked-over distributor and FFIM unknown.

Explained again here.

Which means your GE (N/A) engine and GE (N/A) head are running GTE (T.T.) ignition multiple coil-packs and if your clocks have the GE (N/A) resistor 109 that I suspect it has, you need to bridge this as seen at 0.54 in the how-to modify your tacho Youtube video linked before.
