SupraP-Z
Hey all, i am getting an oil weep from the cam covers (oil down the back of the engine) and im sure my gaskets need changing. My question is, what are the part number for the cam cover gaskets for the NA, and what else needs changing while im there? I know there was an exhaust side gasket, and other bits and pieces, i just cant remember what they were, cheers

Dazzi
Look on importcarparts, they are ADL blue print. IIRC 12 quid for both.
Dnk
On the TT there are washers with seals stuck to them which you also change so would be worth checking if its the same on the NA
Stevo
Changed mine on my NA recently and there are no washers - got mine as part of a full engine gasket kit.
SupraP-Z
Hi, I have a pair of na cam gaskets if you need. Paid £20 for them so same to you n I'll cover the delivery? If you still need bud Hi mate, cheers for the offer but i went and ordered them from my local toyota yesterday morning, should be here for me to collect today, thanks though. On the TT there are washers with seals stuck to them which you also change so would be worth checking if its the same on the NA Thats what i heard too Dnk, about the washers, i was worried about that, but wasnt sure if the N/A was the same or not. Changed mine on my NA recently and there are no washers - got mine as part of a full engine gasket kit. Do i have to replace the intake and the exhaust side gaskets? that means i need 4 altogether? I have only ordered 2 atm. Thanks for the help everyone
David P
Don't discard the old ones, wipe clean then coat with water-pump grease and you'll soon realise you could have saved some money. The 'rubber' hardens and shrinks over time and this very heavy grease softens and fattens it back up again, old ones with no splits, cleaned and refitted with this stuff works. SupraP-Z
I will most definately remember this for next time...ive already ordered the parts...and im sure these are going to be the orignal gaskets that came with the car from Mr T, so just peace of mind really. The main question is, do i need 2 gaskets or 4? intake and exhaust side?
SupraP-Z
Ignore what i just said, i was being silly. I read on supraforums that there were different variants of these gaskets, and i didnt understand what it meant - till i actually read it properly haha. 2 gaskets, one intake side and one exhaust - sorted. Cheers fellas
Dnk
On the few mkiv's i've done the cam cover gaskets were that hard you could hold them out horizontally so if they're like that bin them and fit new. Don't over tighten the nuts or bolts, i think they only need around 7 ft lbs but check the number
SupraP-Z
Im surprised they didnt just shatter into little pieces being that old tbh...i shall soon find out when i get around to changing them. Not sure if its a job i want to tackle myself although id absolutely love to, going to collect the parts today
