Heavily rusted exhaust bolts - UZZ31 Soarer

Hello!

I would like to remove the whole exhaust system and leave the manifolds/headers on the engine as I don't need the rest of it. However, as the title states, the bolts on the exhaust of my Soarer are heavily rusted/corroded and I am having trouble removing them. WD40 is proving useless at present and the bolts round-off at will. At present, clearance is at a bit of a premium, so I am hesitant to try and get my gas torch under there but if I have to, I will find a way to do so.

Can anyone offer any suggestions to how to get the system off the car without me having to cut it up with a hacksaw?

Thanks!

When removing mine (when doing the V8 Supra), I cut the bolts/studs with a dremel. Some snapped off while using an extractor.

After the downpipes were off, I removed the headers, then drilled the studs out so I could fit a new stainless nut and bolt to secure the downpipe. It made it a lot easier for future removals.

J, make sure the socket you are using turns on the flats of the nuts and not the points, also you can buy one of these:

They work a dream on knackered nuts so long as you have room to get it in.

Otherwise these are good, but not as good:

+1 for the dremel, did mine last week using one with the extension to get better angles.

Thanks guys and thank you for the adaptor/socket suggestions Shane - I may well make a purchase!
