The car would be lighter, faster and more reliable :D

Remove the UK scoop and it would probably be quicker too! - Less wind resistance!!!

:p

What short memories we have :nyah: ;)

I'm not sure if the Cd=0.33 claim is for the US TT without the scoop, it could well be 0.34 with the little fella on top.

But after seeing the underbonnet temps stabilise at ambient+30C (at the very best) I would be in no rush to junk the scoop. There is a lot of metalwork expanding down there...

Peter its ok mate..if you look at the last race in the video you can see me storm past Matt.......Think he mistook the brake peddle for the clutch that time...lol

Dave  I want a middle finger 'birdie' smilie!

Pete,

John, Although it was a joke primarily aimed at Dave, I still wouldn't stick one on my car ayway ;)

Anyway, back on topic. Diff collers. Anyone see any reason why it's needed/should be kept? - Or more to the point, is there any documented evidence that the rear diff needs a cooler?

I do a lot of Track driving and although the car might not need a diff cooler, i like to know nothing is getting too hot so im not going to be ditching mine any time soon

I've changed quite a few over the years, and most of them look good. Some even look like they've only just been done.

There have been a couple that have come out as black as the ace of spades, but they may have never been changed from new....

Mine was last changed about 3 years ago. I'll change it later, just to see...

Matt on a serious note.....is there a specific oil to put in the diff? and whats the best way to drain / refill avoided air pockets etc......
