Hey

MK1 1.8 Jap import

We just finished off fitting a new water pump, timing belt but we went to go start her up and she is turning over but no fuel.

We popped off the fuel return feed, nothing is flowing

We checked all the wiring, CAS etc and looms in general, fuses ; any tips on what to do next?

Can you hear the fuel pump priming ? Have you checked the fuel pump fuse ?

Fuse is fine, sounds like she is priming ; no smell of fuel from the exhaust and nothing in the return feed on turnover

Going to throw some fuel in her, she was very low when we got back, just my friend who is a mechanic said it is too much of a coincidence to put it down to out of fuel

Maybe a clogged fuel filter, or the filter on the fuel pump?, my line of taught is work from the Fuel pump towards the fuel rail feed hose

Fuel pump --> fuel Filter --> Fuel rail
