Cleaning Your Exhaust

Noz

Recommended Posts

I did my hole exhaust system ages ago.

I used a fine scotch bright couple with G4 Rubbing compound and a bit of water, then used a wheel cleaner to eat into the old rubbish, washed and G4'd it again.

The actual can/tip, I used the compound again but just with a rag, then waxed and then Meguires metal polish. Looked like new then.

To be honest mate any coarse rubbing compound will be fine, t cut would do it. Just a good wax or metal polish after is the key.

If its really bad use some ultra fine wet and dry, i did this to get some small bits off it and as its fine the small marks polish out nicely.

When I had the old Silver Sup, The exhaust looked terrible on it, so I took some of that alloy wheel cleaner stuff to it.... came out a beauty after a while of it soaking in and breaking down whatever was stuck to it. It was only then I realised it was a HKS exhaust (couldn't see the "HKS" on the side before). I didn't take any before or after pics though :(
