Removing Rear Seats - good idea?

All sounds like a massive waste of time to me on your daily driver. You want to know your real world every day figures. Not so you can tell your mates "It does a 1/4 mile in 11''15 if I rip the interior out!"

My thoughts exactly

You did your own calipers? :impressed: What colour?

:p

did my own stereo amp and sub install too :D lol

done them with hammerite, went with red but wasn't 100% sure on the colour. was thinking of doing them blue but couldn't find a close enough match to the body colour. was also thinking of gold and silver......

and i know a lot more than i did at first you old fart! still don't wanna get under the car on my drive :D

you have a yellow tiger that will weigh as much as a fag packet.

Yep! Totally different kind of beast to the Supra. A definate second car for sunny days and tracks only. It *could* way less if I stripped out the carpet and removed the windscreen, but it wouldn't make it any more fun!

you could always get a nice escort 1.6 liter 16valve ecotec for everyday stuff dumping rubbish and going to work

(Besides the Eww factor) That's what my Supra is for! Well not the rubbish dumping, the ZR is for that :D

does it make a great deal of difference if you can strip say 50kg+

Of course! I wasn't saying it was a bad idea, but to rip out loads of creature comforts to get a slightly quicker 1/4 mile time seems crazy for your everyday road car which will be faster than everything else on the road anyway. Maybe I'm just too old and sensible at 30. Nothing against anyone that's doing this (certainly not Hadyn - good on yer mate for messing about and trying to better your times!)..

But im not talking about using as a daily driver just for drag runs. I always remove the spare wheel and tools from the boot as well as fold in the wing mirrors :)

LOL - You missed out removing the bonnet noise reduction material (and everyone elses) ;)

Whats the legality of driving without one headlamp to and from an event?

I think it's legal as long as it's not dark. But it's a five min job anyway.

It's not actually, Pete. Unfortunately, I know this because because I've been nicked for riding a bike (motorbike) with a race fairing, and hence no front light. In broad daylight BTW.

Apparently, if the vehicle was fitted with lights when registered you must retain them unless you completely remove all switches and associated wiring and have it retested (not sure what kind of test TBH, SVA maybe?)

Mad, innit?

Also guys, don't forget that you must inform your Insurance Company if you remove the rear seat and they will adjust your premium accordingly.

I suppose you should really reapply to the DVLA as you now have a two seater car as well eh?

Rules....Who needs 'em?!
