Dragonball
Do stage III hybrids have enlarged wastegates? else you might as well put a dead rat up your exhaust... The wastegate may be enlarged slightly- and a new 'button flap' fitted - gets another 8 mm approx on diameter (from memory) Also depends on the quality of the turbo being 'hybrided' as have see a one that had mini cracks around the wastegate hole - and could not be done This was done on both Heckler's and Ash's hybrids - which now have a few good miles on them
Ian C
A lot of the turbos I've seen have had a crack at the wastegate - it precludes any machining work, as Paul says, but doesn't mean the turbo is buggered. In fact I can't recall hearing of one going wrong because of this crack - must be a design phenomenon or something. -Ian
MONKEYmark
i used to get as high as 1050 degree on my egt gauge, since i had a walbro fuel pump fitted dont see above 850. no fuel comp and still on stock 440cc injectors also in ttc mode the egt`s would be higher too
JohnA
Mark, do you know what AFRs you had during the 1050 vs 850 degree runs? I take it that boost was at similar levels in both cases, right?
