irfan_habib
Am considering fitting some new aftermarket suspension on my supe. Anyone heard of D2 suspensions and if they are any good? http://www.d2racingsport.co.uk And how much work is involved in fitting new suspension, do I have to get the balancing tracking, geometry done after fitting? Give Gaz Walker a ring at ENVY as he quoted about £700 for Tein coilovers, yesterday at TOTB4, hope he wasnt just high on petrol fumes! irfan_habib
I'm thinking or ordering a few things from ENVY and will have to have them delivered. When ordering something over the phone or online I am always a bit skeptical that there will be delays or the product isn't actually as advertised. How would people who have bought things from ENVY rate the quality of the products and service?
Supra_Nish
10/10 mate no probs with envy. I called in the morning, got an egt gauge delivered the next morning straight to the mechanic who was fitting it.

Perfect mate, I have bought a set of wheels and a NUR-Spec R from Gaz and they have been delivered exactly when specified, some items are not held in stock, hence delays. I would not hesitate in recommending them, no problems. 10/10 Not that I am "looking" for a discount or anything, when I finally convince my Girlfriend that a NA-T is the way to go! Then she lets me spend the money!

These guys were at JAE with a little stand trying to sell these kits. The kits did look very well made. Think it was about £659 for the set
jiixer
They are ok quality, but the ride is not great, Drifting they didnt last 2 seconds. Aerotop Dave
What if I want ride quality over stiffness? What would people recommend then?

Sharpie
I'd have a chat with CW about his suspension kit. Irfan, Envy are 10/10 good guy's And as for the Chris Wilson suspension if you want a demo, give me a shout - I work in Bracknell so, maybe we could meet up one lunchtime ? Here are a couple of other members comments on the CW suspension which, I back 100% http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4955 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17273 HTH
Nick
ChrisW's setup gets my vote too. I've had it on the car for over 5 years now and to date it's still the best money I've spent, worth every penny.
Sharpie
Barney has had it on his car for over 12 months now and when chatting with him at JAE, he too was very happy with it. Hey Nick, your this months pin up
Aerotop Dave
But reading those two threads (with 'witty' comment by me at the end ) it just seems to be a handling upgrade. I want ride quality, I want it to float over the bumps.

These plus a standard set of springs should give a good ride/handling quality. I'd be careful about just going for comfort, the Supra is a powerful car that needs a decent handling suspension set up also. Is your set up stock J-spec at the moment? Aerotop Dave
Well I think it is although I've pm-ed the previous owner to find out. I took a couple of pics tonight but to be honest all this talk of white, yellow or black suspension is a bit confusing as mine just looked... well.. dirty! Chris Wilson
They are definitely NOT Bilsteins, of any ilk, they look like the stock J-Spec black dampers. Safest way to assess the springs, short of me rremoving them and putting them on the spring tester, is to accurately compare your ride height with that of a KNOWN stock car. To do this you measure from the exact centre of a front wheel, to the wheel arch lip vertically directly above. Do this for both front sides, add the figures and halve them, to get an average. Do the same for the rear. Whatever the dampers on at the moment are, they are buggered, they are leaking oil.....

As with everything... so many choices. The reason I asked about the D2 is that I am able to get really good rates for them from a mate, including fitting. At the moment just getting some facts about what's out there and what people recommend.... it's most likely an upgrade for next month or later. Not this month though, have used up my budget for this month, and it's only the second day....! Oh well....! I'll give you a shout one of these days to meet up with you... Aerotop Dave
Whatever the dampers on at the moment are, they are buggered, they are leaking oil..... Ahhhh, marvellous. More money to spend then. Looks like new shocks and springs all round. Not much point in doing the measuring thing if they're gonna come out, but useful info.
