Exhaust bung/silencer

This may have been coverd before but I didn't see much on the search.

I would like to try using the exhaust hung in my nur spec r, but was wondering if its likely to cause any damage by using it all the time.

I asked this when I was going to get myself a Nur Spec R and the general response was not to drive hard with the bung it as the EGT gets pretty high. Also I assume it would cause quite a restriction in the exhaust.

Be fine (especially so on a na), i use mine all the time, never effected my EGT's either, ive never held it flat out with the bung in but i have blasted it through a few gears many a time and nothing seems effected to me.

Can't see the problem on an NA Neil..!!

I was thinking it might just be a case of keeping the revs down but after more research it turns out nothing will happen.

Will keep it in unless I'm at the pod or fancy being a loon for a night.

I was only going to put mine on for the m.o.t,it has twin janspeed ss decats and a hks high power, not sure what it sounds like on WOT but just ticking over it's a bit loud.with the bung in it sounds crud

Even though i am only NA i 'think' i feel a difference, its as though i have gained a bit of torque low down and lost power top end, simple thing for me is i now dont put my foot down, even managing slightly better MPG up from 17.9 to 21.1

TBH i hate the sound it makes but i will be keeping it in for a while and only removing it for suprapod.
