Mine's going in for MOT on Saturday... double de-cat at the mo, struggling with the thought of putting 1 in before the test. It passed before I picked it up from Jurgen last year with none in, so hopefully she can go through again.

Not sure on the noise level test though, if it fails on that then it can only mean it's time for a Tanabe Touring!

Not if the Vosa inspector watches the car drive from the test centre and stops it. That is how they do spot checks according to the tester I know. I dont think you as owner/driver of the car can refuse either.

Vosa have to have police present for road side check's, vosa will just walk into a station anytime and pick a car you have just tested or do a undercover test if they are really intent.

:) Sorry Peter, I meant the exhaust bung but played with the words, as I tend to do. Yup, the handbrake was adjusted, and bulb fitted, then re-test straight after and a pass.

Same tester as passed it last year with same exhaust and no bung. Tougher rules this time round.

You need to be standing in the corner with a 'D' on your head with MOT faults like that, Ewen:D

:) Aye, I'm a little sheepish about it. In my defence, it was a number plate bulb which I didn't spot. The handbrake worked fine as far as I'm concerned, although the travel was a little high. The exhaust noise passed last time. Still, the labour charged for the handbrake adjustment is the same as it would have cost come service time.
