Whitelightning
I have squeeky brakes that sound like they are going to be ripped off at any second (at very low speeds only): 1. Pads are not new but are not worn out. So the "new pad squealing" isnt the answer. 2. Disks are new with no warping, so unlike to be the problem. 3. After the wheels were taken off, disks checked - they can spin with limited resistance. Appart from stripping the brakes down, I was wondering if there is anything else the Supra UK brakes are prone to that may cause the "squeek of death" currently occuring ? If it cannot be diagnosed, Im going to strip the brakes down and cover the lot in copperslip
Pete
Mine are like this too. Annoying isn't it? Wd40? LOL (DON'T EVEN THINK THIS - ANY CHAV MUPPET THAT READS THIS. NEVER PUT OIL ON YOUR BRAKES!)
michael
Do you have the anti squeel shims installed or a light coating of copper grease on the back of the pads? Which pads are they?
Aerotop Dave
Now I get this and I was told it's just brake dust. It's a right earful with the roof off. A damn good stamp on them at the first junction clears the crap out and they are squeal free after that.
SupraLuigi
I've just had the squeal and the only way to fix it was new pads on the fronts although the other pads looked new anyway
Chris Wilson
Toyota do an anti squeal shim kit, you can use Copaslip grease, or you can try different pads. The correct way to test for bind is with the wheels ON and torqued up, as the wheel studs also clamp the brake discs.
Tigger
I've just had the squeal and the only way to fix it was new pads on the fronts although the other pads looked new anyway Those one squealed cause they were racing something or other. Not really road/everyday use;), but I got use to it in the end. Still loving the car?
