Carl
I am in the process of lifting the head of my car. From those who have done the job, how heavy is the head. Can it be lifted of by one person or is it better to be lifted of via a winch. Mine seems quite stuck although I can move it, im just wondering if it purely down to the weight of the thing. Cheers Carl
Scooter
it's a fair old weight especially given the awkward access/leaning over required....the gasket faces friction/stiction can add to the effort needed.......I suspect two people could do it pretty easily if there was something to grab either side (manifolds back on).....also it is quite sharp on its edges..........NB all this info is from me doing this on na engine seperate from the ground ie a lot easier

Tourniquet
weighs 20kg dude, i sent one to Germany recently. Must say it's light enough once you can grab it off the floor or the kitchen counter but I wouldn't just heave it out the bay by myself.
Carl
yeah, had a feeling it might be a tad heavy plus I still have the exhaust side attached with the turbos to increase the weight further. Think Ill call in some help to lift.
Chris Wilson
I can just about lift a head off with the engine in the bay, but wouldn't want to try with the turbos attached without a hoist. If you drop it you can do a lot of damage.
