thought about this alittle more just now and if the carbon film is good stuff how long will it last ? otherwise may aswell just paint it black with chrome rings

Soon as i get a set of headlights i will try and carbon them.

carbon is the new chrome we can get too carried away with the "over carbon" thing.Some of the young guys around my way would carbon their manhood if they could find a small enough piece of carbon.I vote paint em black mate.

Updated the first post with a pic (went matt black with chrome rings) I will finish this set then Take the ones off my car which are pretty good anyway and do them the same (matt black - chrome rings ) and I will be selling those

Which matt black paint do you use mate - is it the stuff from the PlastiKote range?

 

Attempting to do this to a set now - just split them open tonight.

used some 1200 wet and dry just to make a key. Plastic primer and yes then plasti kote super matt black. Gettin the rings re done as well before i put all back together. Any job like this is all in the prep. Good prep equals good results
