Jamie, reading on the website it says the hotter it gets the better it holds, does that mean if I'd tried that little prank I played this afternoon on that clutch it'd have been OK?

Seems to be the case with carbon clutches, id not try a second gear start on it though, not as mad as you:D

Stick a long screwdriver in between the plate and flywheel and give it a LIGHT tap with a hammer then wiggle the screwdriver a bit, again LIGHTLY. NO FOOKING CROWBARS lol.

I'm going to have a go at releasiing it tomorrow, it's a bit of a shot to nothing anyway as if it is fooked I'm not likely to break anything, now where is my crowbar :D

Yeah, feeling rather stupid at myself now :D, it's one thing I'll never do again now :D

Come across quite a few threads on drag forums where this has happened, they say sometimes driving it in a high gear & pressing on the gas can unlock them

Give me a ring tomorrow Jay and tell me it worked.

No need, it's freed already :D

Did a search to see how to release it, came across this for an MG :D

Did the first trick of starting it on 4th & it came right off :D

Now I don't have to waste my AP brake upgrade money on a crappy clutch :D

I'm off out to see if the same thing happens in 3rd :D

I'm thinking of doing a full fluid change on the clutch/gearbox/diff after this little escapade, can anyone confirm to do the 3 that I don't need to drop anything major out the way (ie it's just a case of opening the drain/fill points, draining, then filling back up)?

Come to think of it Jay...I did the same thing with a 1973 Mercedes saloon I had ,which had spent 2 years in the garage!
