michael
Aerotop TT = GZ It will have to be an auto and is available as a Japanese import only. You can also get the GZ as a hardtop but most ads will clearly state which it is. Paul Whiffin had an absolute bargain aerotop up for grabs last week, well within your price range, black and looked very clean. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=37383

michael
thnx for that. are there any downsides to having an import? alot of people have told me not to get one for one reason or another. what bhp are the twinturbos? thnx... Just looked at that thread, someone put a deposit on it today - typical! J-Spec vs UK is a well travelled and much debated subject that fills the archives, a quick search should release lots of chatter and no real answers It's a personal thing and both cars are fantastic, out of interest what are people telling you? We can probably fill in any gaps and answer any concerns that might have been planted. J-Spec cars are quoted at 280bhp and UKs at 326bhp - the J-SPec figure isn't accurate though, simply the normal number given as part of a daft gentleman's agreement in Japan. Expect ~320bhp for the J-Spec with slightly faster spooling turbos that run out of puff slightly earlier than the UK ones. Lots of stuff to read up on, I can recommend a couple of hours on the search button and then pop back if you need to fill in any blanks
CardiffSupra
Great thnx for your help! a few people have told me its hard to get imported parts and its higher priced insurance. not sure if its true or not, anyway thnx for ur help.
Bobbeh
Used used to be tricky getting imported parts, but the scene is so large now its not really an issue at all. You'd be happy with either model
hadyn
not being funny, but why did you waste your money on the celica?? have you just realised what is and is not a fast car, hence why you want a supra?? moving away from FWD scrabble hell is also a very very good move mate
Bobbeh
The Celica is a capable car for what it is. Especially Titan Motorsports'

Bobbeh
Trust me, you're getting a lot more car for your money. We have a VVTi Celica, dont get me wrong its a nice car, but the Supra is a lot more solid, luxurious and performs in a totally different league

Supragal
Hello and welcome, don't be scared of the import thing. Lots of people tutted and stuff when I said I was getting an import but that turns out it's because they didn't really know the score.
CJ
Welcome fellow taffy person There are pros and cons to both the UK and import cars but finding parts isnt one of them. The UK car will give you more toys as standard and will probably be cheaper to insure. The imports are usually cheaper and far more readily available. At the end of the day, whichever you chose you are going to be happy but do take your time looking. Dont just buy the first "mota" that becomes available and try to take someone along who knows the marque.
Andy C
I'd second what CJ says - there's a lot of cars to choose from so take your time and pick a good one.
