suprastu
Hi Guys & Girls (bloody hell, I sound like Jimmy Saville!), I'm looking at getting a 3 Gauge holder that fits under a single din stereo and was wondering which are the most important gauges that I need? Presuming Oil temp, Boost, but not sure about the third? Or should I have a pod elsewhere for the boost? Any replies would be very welcome. supra_aero
Depends on what the spec of your car is to be honest.
Branners
Its very small down there, you sure you can get 3 good gauges for that space? I think its a 52mm hole, or smaller depending which pod you use. I used to have my boost gauge down there and there was not way I was looking down there when I had my foot flat on the floor.

Fair Point! :taped:Are the pods that mount onto the left side of the dash any good? I can imagine that they are easier to see, I'm just not keen on drilling loads of holes into the dash. My Spec is standard J Spec Twin Turbo at the moment, but I'm going BPU, which is why I wanted the gauges in ready. Stu
Multics
If it's a turbo get a wideband afr or oil pressure
Matt H
AFR if your first choice. But i doubt you will get 3 gauges down there unless you put a lot into modifying the console trim. Why not an A pillar pod? They look good to boot

Why not an A pillar pod? They look good to boot I did think of that, but I was worried that I'd keep banging my bloody head on it getting in or that it would obsure my view. I'm probably just being a girl though (to all the female owners, I apologise!). Stu

suprastu
1. AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) 2. Boost 3. Oil Pressure Ok, cool thank you. Is Oil pressure more important that temperature then? I know it seems like a daft question, but I'd rather know what does what and have things that enhance the car and not millions of dials and lights for the sake of it. Or would temp and pressure be a better combo, rather than just one or the other. Am I correct in thinking that the AFR also comes as a little rectangular device that I could put elsewhere? add heywood
Ive got 3 gauges in the upper glove box, but they are quite far out of your normal driving field of view that you really have to take your eyes off the road to see them. Id recommend either an A pillar pod or one that goes to the left of the dash itself.

add heywood
AFR Boost EGT Do you need AFR and EGT? Thought they showed (roughly) the same thing.
