TERMINATOR 4 Salvation - Spoilers inside

Following on from THIS thread I ended up watching this movie last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Many of you have said that there are some major holes in the plot, one that I couldn't get my head round was back in T1, kyle said that the first terminators could easily be identified due to their plastic like skin, Arnie was one of the newer cyborgs with human skin making it harder to identify, so then how come Marcus being (not even a terminator) had a human skin?

I'm not sure where Marcus came from to be honest. Was he always there from the early days or was his executed body just held in stasis?

The T-600s looked pretty clunky, although the only ones we saw had already been in the field for some time, so may have lost their plastic skin. I'm sure the one that Kyle killed had boots on. Also, the one that Kyle killed did not recognise Marcus and tried to kill him as a human, or maybe that was all part of a plan to infiltrate him into Kyle's "group"

But seroiusly, both Connor AND Reese are in your manufacturing plant HQ, and you send ONE T-800? Not everything you have? Not even blow up the plant, nuke it from orbit just to be sure?

Was Marcus not originally human though? I thought he was human then got robot bits put in rather than being made as a robot and skin put on top.

Fair point.

however, as Skynet mastered the combination of machine and human with Marcus - why were (according to Kyle in T1) the 1st terminators easy to spot due to their plastic looking skin - according to the 1st movie, the next generation (Arnie) were the ones that had the human skin and therefore harder to spot.

I would have thought that kyle would have mentioned Marcus to Linda Hamilton back in T1 when he goes back into the past......

I think he was mostly robot with heart and brain of Marcus, hence his belief he was still Marcus, a bit like Robocop. His body was too tough to be organic.

But was his timeline unaffected by what Sarah Connor did in the fledgling Cyberdyne building?

He was executed and taken by cyberdyne so as Imi says, his appearance post JD must have been "static" in time. Maybe Reese was more interested in knobbing the young Connor in that hotel room than turning her off with future scare-stories.

The T-600 you need to play the terminator savlation game for their introduction

However, the ones holding the humans prisoner (in the camps with the miniguns) are the t600's with the rubber skin like half on their faces.

Screen grab

Although that one doesent have that much rubber left as the ones in the prison areas

The only part i didn't get was arnie, what model was he? I thought in the previous movies he was the T-101? In this movie it seemed he was an 800. Thats the only thing i really didn't understand. As for why they didn't blow them up from orbit etc, its a movie. Their victory had to remain believable even if the counter attack from skynet didn't.

Marcus donated his body to science. They had his DNA and re-created him using it. The heart was obviously modified to be much stronger than a normal human heart etc etc. He was actually a less effective model due to his vulnerable heart.

T-800 model 101

Models been the different apperences of them (sarah connor chronical series explains that :D) although they also refer to them as model T888

Ahhh thanks for that :D

Is he actually called a T-800 model 101 in the previous movies or is that a bridge in the chronical's?

Marcus was a one off and was a human donated, you see a little about him when they first come across him and they are scanning the data.

He still has human parts including brain and heart wired into his new endoskeleton, he was basically human similar to robocop as already mentioned.

Other terminators are 100% machine with fabricated living parts.
