dangerous brain
Its a collection only deal how can that be a scam? Its so obviously a breakers yard. And yeah he's just started on ebay and also probably never actually sells parts on ebay just uses it for advertising. Then again it might be a scam but if you follow the same way of dealing with things as you would if you were following an ad in autotrader parts you won't go wrong. Homer
Fooking hell db, it's one of the thousands of scams on ebay used every day. There will be no car, no parts, etc. Payment will be requested via a 3rd party, etc. I've asked for an address to visit them, lets see what the response is
dangerous brain
Surely its got to be worth a phone call. Allthough I do have to admit 1 mk2 aristo for scrap is rare as hens teeth so to have 2 and a mk1 is practically unbelievable. If its true however and he doesn't know what that engine is worth you could potentially have a £500 vvti tt lump for the price of a phonecall and a trip to Manchester
Homer
The auction is for a Lexus badge, not an engine

ivan
Lots of auto traders use that ploy to sell bits from breaking cars. It's just an ad - you ring them asking for the parts you want and collect if they've got them - pay on collection.

Yes, It is so they can keep commissions down, and not have to list every part individually.
Homer
Ken was correct, here's the reply: hi mate, thats totally understandable best thing with ours are they were nearly complete and one is still on the key. we are based in manchester it would be better if u tell me wich parts u are interested in and i can tell u if they are still available, then we can arrange a time for u to come and veiw them. thanks derek So, could be a good chance to get one after all
PJ
I see ads like this all the time from people breaking motors, nothing suspect at all with that, they're usually breakers using eBay as cheap advertising. In fact I just bought a load for my Rangey off a very similar type of ad. There is usually 0 feedback as all the trades are done outside of eBay to get around the extortionate fees or eBay cotton on and suspend the account so a fresh one is started. Pretty common practice really. Good post DB
