HKS T51R Turbo

I have been looking at the new BL PT6265 billet turbos and the FullRace Borg Warner based S300SX 88/75 which is a little smaller than a GT4088R ;)

The BW units are oil cooled only so less plumbing.

They both seem to have good feedback.

Either of these fitted to the Supra 2j engine?

Im tempted to go for one of those, or the T67. Which is of these is looking to give the most amount of Bhp with speedy spool?

The T04Z is supposedly able to make 750 if you ask HKS. I haven't seen more than 720 though.

I honestly don't think 750 is mind blowing in a Supra.. Road car or not, still the same.

I made 735 fly BHP at 1.8 bar on a 2.7 litre stroker RB26, they could not get any more with pump gas

That was TDI Essex Hub Dyno

it was mind blowing to me ! :D

Can you post some pics up, maybe start a new thread detailing the work done, sounds like an interesting project.

I love the PHR Stage 2+ DBB I am making 577fwhp at 1.25bar mapped by Ryan G and not having a lag problem at all. I would suggest another problem may be the cause of your dissatisfaction. I would give Michel Lane a buzz and get him to take a look before forking out money pointlessly.

cant speak about the manifolds but i was looking at having my BL T61 rebuilt purely as a precautionary measure when it goes on my rebuilt engine, this is the reply i got from a VERY well known UK based turbo specialist about Precision (BL) turbos - It isn't a question of not being able to get the parts, we have just found from experience that the quality of manufacture and assembly is not of a high enough standard for us to warrant working on them

Speaking from experience, a BL T67DBB is a Garrett core and therefore eminently rebuildable, so unless there were radical component choice changes between the T61 and T67 I'd say the '61 was the same. This is from Turbo Dynamics, a very well known UK based turbo specialist with an actual name ;) Perhaps the un-named specialist isn't a Garrett dealer :D

Unless it was Turbo Dynamics you spoke to and we have the usual left hand/right hand thing going on in a company - wouldn't be the first time...

I didn't like the way mine performed at 1.2 bar, moving to 1.4 bar released a significantly more amount of power, however on a daily driver any more would be too much power to be of any use.

550bhp on a turbocharged RWD road car is pretty insane, I honestly wouldn't want any more.

Well after what, 3 years of having this setup, I still mostly run 1.2bar and I can't say it feels sluggish! I just worry something will go wrong if I run 1.4bar all the time, which is daft because every car I've mapped seems to be still going strong at that boost level.

However I'm now planning on trying 1.6, damn you all. Now I'll have to do something about the fuel pump because I suspect one walbro isn't going to cut it... And after hearing Heckler's Bosch pump I'm bloody not installing one of those :)

I really don't know what you just said, but I think you're trying to say that a pump is a pump? Not sure I agree, but each to their own.
