Chris Wilson
Save your money, minimise the chances of being pulled, rise above the level of dubious looking plates on a glitzed up car. Win win situation, surely, keep the old plate I bought my plate whilst intoxicated (a state in which I often do regrettable things), so I feel able to advise! In the cold light of sobriety it was a decision of foolishness, but nonetheless a financially sound one, which has been some consolation.

Chris Wilson
Don't worry, Mr Bored Bobby knows the legality, he'll soon put you straight
fizzle
tbh they are fairly cheap, and my current one isn't great. F13LD J is the one i really want but at £1300 is a bit out my range... £245 i thought to be reasonable.. hides the age of the car a bit to the untrained eye.. Scott
Don't worry, Mr Bored Bobby knows the legality, he'll soon put you straight Yeah i know it will only be a matter of time. I'll keep the normal plates in the boot and just say i was at a meet Saying that, i have had an illegal plate on the back since i got the car and i haven't been pulled once. I think the bored bobby's are more after saxo's and the like. I do stay away from the "cruise" scene though so i guess that keeps me under the radar...... that and the fact i have only done 3k miles since i got the car in 2007 lol. Dnk
Not worth the hassel imo as its giving the boys in blue an obvious excuse to pull you over. Cant they impound your car these days if they want to be really arsey with you if youve got dodgy plates on ?
Supra Size Me
Voted for the soop one jai, but as chris rightly points out be careful how you get it made up as plod will be sure to notice it more on a supra than a regular run of the mill car. See you soon bud, Andy
L33
L 500P is illegal when i had my plate i had L33 R XX and because the R was not next to the X'S i got a £30 on the spot fine. i recon if it wasnt a modified car or was a older driver it would be fine. seen it so many times, and its amazing how far people push there luck with the "well situated" fixings on the plate. also a friend of mine has his number plate slightly minimised so it would fit on his car. so slight the reg letter spacing was 2mm to close, as pointed out when the copper got a tape measure out!! again £30 fine! they only pulled him over because his car is extremly modified, they went over every thing looking for some thing, and the plate was the only thing! my taxes well spent
Carl_S
So long as your current one is not L564 KAK, keep the old one.
Chris Wilson
Does that price include the transfer fees?

AlanM
L 500P is illegal i recon if it wasnt a modified car or was a older driver it would be fine. Being older doesn't help, think I am the oldest on here and my Supe looks dead standard. Yet I got charged because bored bobby reckoned four of the five digits on my front plate were a mm under width. I refused the fixed penalty and opted to go to court cos I knew it was legal (he measured it with the tape they use for skid marks etc). After a month the charge was dropped
