juanchan
We talking 306s? A colleague of mine has one tuned to 200bhp. Very nice, very quick, leaves the Supra for dead on twisty B-roads and he hasn't had any major reliability issues. His only current issue is caused by his high lift cams

Should be pushing around 140bhp if the claims are anything to go by. The little thing can shift i'll tell you, the big brother can only be better i guess. One thing that lets all these cars down is the electrics. Be very very warey with anything electrical on French cars. I've been lucky with my 106, i think the only thing failing is the electric mirrors, but i know some people who haven't. Make sure if you get one you go over everything electrical with a fine tooth comb.
The Raven
306 gti-6 or the 206 gti? Im just off to look at a 206 gti now. Harder to find a gti-6 local tho
JustGav
I had a 106 rallye 1600 which was good fun, reliable as well, only flaw with it was the fact that it got up on two wheels too often, mind you I think that may have been driver issues. hehehe I've driven a few gti6s and all in for a french car they really are nice. Definitely more of a PEBCASW issue than a gearbox issue My mate has silicone greased up his electrical conenctions to try and prevent anything major going wrong, and so far he's not had much trouble with it. He also said that http://www.306gti6.com is a wealth of info

Thorin
A mate of mine used to have one (306 GTI-6), not a bad little car, but I thought the steering was a bit wooly, and the clutch was very heavy and small biting point. That could have just been his though.
JamesF
I had a 306 D-Turbo and it was amazing. Still miss that car. Get one get one get one.
Scott
I had a 306 D-Turbo and it was amazing. Still miss that car. Get one get one get one. I'd have that over the GTi-6 to be honest. Cheap as chips to buy and cheap as chips to run. I do have a soft spot for oil burners though, i think they are the way forward performance wise. JamesF
Get an HDI cos you can remap them and tune them just as you'd tune a petrol turbo engine (bigger intercooler, hybrid turbo etc)
j_jza80
Im just off to look at a 206 gti now. Please don't. Horrible little cars that dont do anything very well. I used to drive my brothers occasionally, and used to get irritared by pretty much everything about it. The 306 is a much better bet. (You should be able to get a honda civic VTi for this money, and although good ones are rare, they are out there)
