Suprash
how cheap is cheap i have a 2 car hydraulic iveco 7.5t for sale that i no longer use for 2k Well I have seen this one for £1000, I know it needs some work doing, but depending how bad the power steering issue is I might only have to throw say £500 at it to get the few issues sorted......http://www.driftworks.com/forum/misc-sale-private-sales/72671-cheap-transit-recovery-truck.html 2 car, 7.5t, isnt that a bit big for what I need, sorry not really up to scratch on different trucks, you got any pics....... scooby_doo_do
there's a few trailers on ebay, if not pistonheads have a few as well...
Suprash
there's a few trailers on ebay, if not pistonheads have a few as well... But again, cant seem to find anything for under 2k......apart from this cheap DW one. I really havent got a lot to spend on a recovery truck and was only going to spend the £700/£800 on a double axle car trailer, but when I saw the above recovery truck for an extra £300 I thought it might be worth a go, however I cant justify another 1k on top of that
colsoop
Its a buyers market Ash, just because it says x amount doesn't mean you need to offer that race cars direct tend to have a few trailers too.
Branners
get a 2 car unit, and then find a fellow drifter and charge them to ship their car to the same events you are going to.

I was thinking the same, but doubt I could really pick and choose my hours, unless I was contracted to a recovery company......could be worth looking into though

JustGav
Ash, you might be lucky, like us older barstewards who get the 7.5 tonne bit on our license, but if not I can help you out, currently the house-biiiaatch
Holden1989
yes my mum used to get away with it as she is an old bird, passed her test before 1990 or something, but had to take her LGV to be able to drive it legally as the laws changed, we also had to apply for a form of operators license, if your looking to go into it as a business i suggest you look up the laws and regulations are on transporting goods for profit Infact looking at the picture, it is the exact same model as ours, minus the horse bit on the back of course

Dnk
Do you know what total weight you'll be carrying ? I thought the transit type were 3500 kgs inc the vehicle
Holden1989
well its as i thought, if you passed your test before 1997 you MIGHT be covered for LGV class 1 up to 8.25t, so you may run the risk of going over your weight limit if you have your drift car and spares loaded up, and believe me they do pull you over and check the weight personally, i would double check beforehand that your are licenced
Holden1989
Do you know what total weight you'll be carrying ? I thought the transit type were 3500 kgs inc the vehicle the truck pictured isnt a transit, its a iveco 7.5ton but your right in saying the transits are usually 3.5t plus any extra weight that you may put on them

You shouldnt have issues with any transit mate thats been converted to a pickup, or they wouldnt allow them lol....... Not that mrdsukautos is probably interested in my offer, and it is a wicked truck, I do love it, but it is more then I need really just for getting a car to and from somewhere, but if mrdsukautos is interested in my offer, he needs to move really quick as I have just won this on Ebay lol..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300284532988
