UK Spec Bonnet

Scott

Recommended Posts

Looking for a UK spec bonnet or a bonnet with a UK scoop on it. Just looking to change my TRD hood to an almost stock look.

Preferably in black but not too fussed about the colour as i'm planning a re-spray once everything is finished.

Cheers

I have a silver J-spec one if you're interested? No scoop though I'm afraid.

It's not 100%, there are a couple of minor dents and a few small scratches, but I don't want anything for it.

It's currently at the bodyshop where my car's being painted and the sprayer said that he'd repair and paint it for £200 if that's of any use?

Bumping this up.

Looking for either a swop for my TRD or to buy outright, up to seller.

Again, black preferably. My TRD bonnet is aluminium as far as i can tell, i think its similar if not original. It doesn't have the deep cut outs like the copies does, it has thin cutouts (due to being metal) as the stock TRD does.

Looking for a UK spec with the scoop. I already have a j-spec bonnet as a spare. I could get a scoop and fit that but thats a bit much hassle.

I'm open to anyone who has a modded J-Spec with a Scoop on it though.

Cheers

Scott the OEM scoops are cheap as chips from Toyota (£135 incl rain tray underneath), and if you're only bothered about it being aesthetic (ie no rain guard underneath it's cheaper still)

Hmm that might be an option then. I was reading through the forum and reading quotes of £180 for the kit. I would probably go with the rain guard as well though just to be on the safe side. I'm guessing the scoop would aim the water right at the coilpacks lol.

Cheers mate, i'll give Mr.T a phone and see what they say. Do i just ask for the Bonnet Scoop assembly?

I payed £135 IIRC for the lot brand new from Mr T. There is a list of the part no's you'll need on another Supra forum (I'll try & dig it out, I think it's the AUS forum). I can't put the rain guard on as it interferes with the TRD strut brace.

Here's a full write up and parts list for this modification to a stock bonnet:

Yeah i had a look at that, thanks. I reckon i'm better to hold out for a bonnet though as i could probably get one for the same price or less than the kit costs.

I've got a couple of weeks before it goes in for its spray so thats the deadline basically. I'm not really THAT bothered as my TRD bonnet looks great, i just don't like the water running through the mesh. UK is a preference but TRD will do nicely lol.

Cheers
