F-Reg Plates: Anyone try to buy one today?

DVLA were a total waste of time today. I don't know how many times I tried to get in touch with the DVLA between 8am and 6pm and yet all I got was the engaged tone.

There's probably only two guys taking the new F-Reg orders in the DVLA office:rolleyes:

"Ar$e"!!!! - that's all I can say on the subject:(

I don't get it. Why isn't F4STT already gone, and why's it only £999?

I'm tempted to buy it, and wondering if I'm being daft mentioning it in public, or if I'm just totally missing something ..

F4SST has gone ...

Just picked up F14MED for £599 ...

Didnt check F4NNE or F3LCH

IMO it should have gone to the auction to give everyone a fair chance of buying it.

Surely that would mean the person with the most money got it.

I would have thought everybody had a fair chance this way - it just depends whether you were lucky enough to be the one that got through.

  • 3 weeks later...

I read in the paper that the law will change on Nov 1st 2008 to make it illegal to make number plates up with illegal spacing to form words......Funny how the DVLA make £m's each year on the idea of making words with their plates.....

Not sure if it's true or not but....sounds about right!

I read the same. One rule for them, one for us, as usual :(

Ah, OK - didn't read it properly. Missed the "make plates up" part.

I was told by the MOT centre they'd clamped down hard on them about cars with illegal spacing this year - hence I needed new plates.

Lucky I already have plates for both my cars when I want to take them to shows I guess.......
