monsween
Ok so im selling stuff on ebay at the moment, not done it for a while and now i remeber why, "How much to end the item early?" What kind of response do they expect. I reply "How much are you offering then?" So for an amp, which started at 4.99 and i know will get around 40quid for it, i get an offer of 15quid, i mean really. Get a grip! Rant over. :@

marc_p
Well you asked him "How much are you offering then?" if you had just said £40 to him to begin with then it would of been avoided, I hate it when people just say 'how much are you offering' or just 'offers', of course there going to say lower than it's worth because they dont have a clue how much you want for it. Was a perfectly reasonable question in my opinion.
bigbloodyturbo
have to agree, if you say 'offers' or 'how much are you offering' it only makes sense to offer less than what its worth. You dont go to a used car dealer and offer him sticker price for the car you want do you?
michael
I bought some Sennheiser CX500s earlier this month, the day after the seller cancelled the deal and refunded me in Paypal - he stated that the headphones were fake and as a result he wasn't going to sell them. Fair enough you think but then why would he open a payment dispute against me at the same time? Ah yes, to get his listing fees back from eBay and make it look as though I decided not to buy the item rather than him refusing to sell. Looking at the rest of his auctions he has lots of expensive headphones at less than RRP, I suspect most, if not all, are fake but the Sennheiser CX500s must have been bad fakes or shipped to him without the right accessories so he pulled them to prevent negative feedback. The annoying thing is that Paypal still have hold of my money, it was direct from my bank via a switch card so pretty instant but they hold it for 7-9 working days to allow clearance *sigh*. So I have no goods, no refund and if I don't reply to the payment dispute in 7 days eBay put a black mark on my account. Needless to say I replied to the dispute to say I didn't agree to back out of the sale and left him suitable feedback. The systems they have in place don't offer enough protection to buyers or sellers and if you raise any concerns with them they make it so difficult to progress a complaint that I presume 90% of people just give up. Google need to jump on this and set up an alternative that has a heavy slant towards Google checkout. Amazon seems to attract a lot of fake goods these days too, no way can anyone sell real CX500s for under £10.

You dont go to a used car dealer and offer him sticker price for the car you want do you? fair comment but you still dont offer 5K for a 10K car. Granted i expect to be offered less but not ridiculous prices.
Axle
What you need to remember though, is everybody is after a bargain. You dont bag a bargain unless you try.

SILKYSMOOTH
ebay really does my head in some times , I know how you feel... Even now I have two winning bidders for various items and it's been two days and still no payment from either of them. I think they just do this to mess about and waste my time and money...I just don't understand it.
