Welcome to the club:) Good luck with your hunt, here being a good place to start. Though you may find, as many others have, the differance in insurance between a TT and NA is not much differance. A UK TT usuallly being the cheapest option:)

but fuel econemy is a hell of alot worse on the uk TT i hear.

Not really, I think the official stats are 19mpg and 20mpg for the NA and TT respectively.

Are there many Supras on the I-O-W? (Is there much scope to use one to it's potential over there?!)

there it about 3 and none of them are TT. As for scope the roads are very ok but nothing liek the motorway.

will the difference of the uk twin turbo to the import non turbo be alot as in power, torgue and driverbility for a guy who has neevr owned a rear wheel drive or a turbo car and has just driven vtec cars.

think i will get a non turbo one first to see how i handle rwd then if i like it i will get a tt

Good choice, that's what i did. I was 19 when i got my n/a and 21 when i got my TT.

The n/a really taught me how to drive properly and also taught me how to drive and respect Supra's...:)

These car's are pussy cats until you let them free and then they want to tear your head off if you can't handle a Supra...:D

The difference between the performance of the UK spec (all TTs) and import (Jap-Spec or "J-Spec" for short) TT is negligable, if there is one at all.

The difference between the TT and the NA is quite huge. The NA is by no means slow compared to 90% of the cars on UK roads, and it starts well but never really gives you that lurch forward you get even from even a stock TT with both cats and standard boost. A BPU TT is another leap forward again.

You can't really do anything cost effective to make an NA faster, exept drop a TT engine in it. Bear that in mind if you really do want plenty of power.
