Pete
Not saying it'll sound very good, but it's an interesting concept for only 150 smackeroonies. http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/en/europe/car-audio-1/headunits-6/caip500-68-product.aspx I'll stick with my Alpine I think. marbleapple
I saw this in Redline and thought it was a great idea until I realised that most radios already have an aux in or an interface so thats the point?

Not many head units offer full ipod capability whereby you can select tracks etc. Basically control the iPod the same was as the wheel. Aux in is a pathetic compromise. marc_p
and the Ipod is kept nicely out the way.
marbleapple
Aux in is a pathetic compromise. How so? (serious question) I was under the impression that if you plugged the ipod into the aux in, the radio would play exactly what was playing on the ipod. My plan is to mount my iphone on the dash (hands free thingy) and have an aux in cable through the dash... Is this not a good idea?

Devices with proper iPod interfaces allow you to use the usual stereo knobs to select artist/album etc. Then you've got the issue of having two volumes to play with. Docking it you need separate power as well as the stereo jack - more hassle mounting it, cables everywhere. Plus there's the fact you've got the dock visible to thieves. The stereo won't display the track you're on and your ipod display will be faded out. Umm..can't think of any other issues.
Daston
I purchased one of those new sony ones. Its ok however the thing that pissed me off was the USB on a lead at the back of the unit! Great if its in a car like the Supra where you can feed it into a glove box but the Tuscan has just got a sealed pod for the sterio and door buttons and thats it. So my usb is useless. So I have to use the Aux for the moment However I seem to be able to use the Zen without looking at it. Just a quick glance to see what album I want

johnny g
I got the 9887R - details in sig - they are an excellent unit, VERY impressed with it - but I only have Alpine in any of the cars.
juanchan
Saw these down at my local Sextons reccently as they do a marine version too. I'm not sure on the quality personally, but I know one of my mates who works in the marine ICE trade recently swapped out his Alpine headunit for a Fusion one.
