nick_karkie
Hi, have had a long search and play around with the car but I have yet to solve my problem. I have an auto tiptronic vvti and like I have read there is no trac fuse, I cant turn the traction control off when the car is driving, only when snow mode appears, so how do I turn it off when i get in the car, button doesnt seem to do anything with ignition set to on. How can I turn it off when I get into the car, it keeps coming on at low speeds. thanks Nick
Pete
Sounds odd. What should happen is with engine running you can press the off button and a light on the left of the dash comes on. Not something dumb like your light is dead is it?
nick_karkie
its possible the bulb has gone from the dash. in which position is the bulb for the traction off, because there are 2 displays, one above the other?
Pete
Lower left, it says Slip Cont Off. You should be able to see it if you shine a torch or something?
vvteye
or you could just rip it out and replace it with RLTC
Alex
or you could just rip it out and replace it with RLTC How exactly do you rip it out? As the traction control is linked to the throttle butterfly on the VVTI? Or do you mean, ditch the ECU, Throttle body and replace all?

That would explain why interpro modified the FBW throttle body and after failing (heroically) changed the piggyback ECU to a new standalone. Believe it or not, you have given me a light bulb moment. Branners
Mr Karkie returns. New Supra? As Pete says you can turn the stock TC off when you get in the car and the light on the dash should come on. JB

JODY T
looks like jon has forgotten re this thread.. FWIW the Omex does run the VVTI.. After testing, the VVTI give jons car 40hp.. locking it or turning it off drops the output by quite a lot... SO well worth the hassles of keeping it IMO.. The line between forgetting to answer and not being able due to being a mechanical numpty is a very fine one indeed

Hi, yeah I have the supra here in spain, I have only seen 2 other supras here in 2 years. Thanks to Scooter for looking at it for me, its a perfect example. I think the traction problem is just the "slip con" bulb, because when I press the off button nothing appears but car is driving much better without cutting out, can actually power it when pulling out of a junction without worrying about the traction control kicking in.
