be wary though, my mate picked up a bargain car for £500, has spent £2000 on it since as exhaust, radiator, and part of the engine flew off (one of the wheels/pulleys).

A bargain is not always what it seems.

Hope it's a good 'un though;)

The car was in mint condition, but there was a problem somewhere as there was no heat getting to the passenger cabin. It didn't appear to be HG, but decided it wasn't worth the risk so didn't buy it in the end.

However, I've just won a 97 v6 mondeo, in black with only 66k on the clock. It was a little more at £400, fingers crossed it's a good one!

Omega's are a nightmare anyway. Nothing but hassle with the electrics.

U can get a scorpio cosworth for those bucks.

I'll second that. My 3 litre elite was a bitch of a thing. The timing belt costs £300 just for the parts for instance. If the fan fuse goes you lose your head gasket and trying to do any small job in that engine bay is a joke. The package of receipts with it was so heavy and full of £2k plus jobs it was horrifying.

Scorpio cosworth despite looking uggerly would be the better car I think.

If you were going to stretch to a little over a grand I have a 2.3 turbo estate vovlo 940 :D
