CJ
What's the problem? The guy posts up a link to a site that has music vids. Why is there an issue with that?

For the record I have no issue with the chap or the link in question but do feel the claims of it being "very good" aren't all that accurate. TBH, my post was directed more at Red and Marc. Surely Red doesn't dislike every band that features on the site? And I was wondering what Marc's post was referring to. michael
Surely Red doesn't dislike every band that features on the site? He does like to hammer home his own particular musical preferences at any given opportunity though so maybe we are just building up to one of those sessions? It's not like the OP had linked to itunes or Epitonic or the like.

If I convert just one person away from run-of-the-mill rubbish then it's worthwhile. For the purposes of this thread though I shall refrain from recommending any music whatsoever. CJ
I could have but why should I? Well, I suppose common courtesy comes into it. I could have posted on several threads where you have discussed your preference in music and said I thought it was pretentious crap but didn't as it was just my opinion and didn't add anything. I guess some people just like to be argumentative or confrontational eh?

Gaz6002
Can you explain to me why you commented "Seriously though, WTF"? Absolutely. The database doesn't seem to show anything substantial, the site is very badly laid out using my resolution and the guy spelt the word "address" wrong in the title. He also neglected to explain the link or why it is "good" compared to other, more user friendly applications posted on here by other members. WTF is an abbreviation of the phrase "what the fu*k" used on the internet to display feelings of confusion, shock, dismay or distaste.

Mike
Is it still like this? I've obviously had a bit of a break from this place, but on returning it is *very* noticeably quieter than it used to be... I thought maybe it was just me but I think loads of people must be sick of the bickering and just not coming back, or not posting as much as they used to. Nothing personal at anyone on this thread because I'm sure some find it amusing and some don't... but.. it is sort of boring? <..must ..refrain ..from ....commenting ...and leave thread alone>

You missed out IMHO which is an abbreviation of the phrase "in my humble opinion" which, at the end of the day, is all it is - your opinion. You also failed to notice that the OP (that's an abbreviation for "original poster") was French and therefore may not have had the necessary skills to explain himself further. Yes, it is my opinion, that's what these types of forums are based on. Almost all posts should carry an IMO then surely? Oh, and his location wasn't lost on me. Does he get the right to post links completely undeterred without explaining why they might be good or interesting then? What if I did the same? I'd get flamed. What about if the website was malicious? Is it still OK? So because he's French that's OK? I'm already regretting posting now because I can see the way this thread is going but I'm not going to edit or apologise
