tbourner
Is it possible to straighten a buckled alloy wheel? Anyone know anything about it if it is? Is it cheaper than two and a half grand for a new set!!!
cashpoint
Buckled a wheel on my last car and was told that only small buckels could be taken out of alloy wheel. So it epends on the damage, as it's only small buckels i think you had better start tooking for some new wheel, Sorrry

Also there's no uneven tyre wear at all! But people have told me my rear wheel looks buckled - when stopped at lights for example. I think it's the cause of my rear shock going. by1
I know this is years old. Does anyone know where I can get buckled alloy repaired? As hit brick in middle of M271 this morning and bent outer lip of rim. I've 18" doluck double six rims so cant really afford to replace. Many thanks in advance for any advice. AndyT
Speak to Pro Tyre in Fareham or Micheldever. Google either for contact info. mate. If the damage isn't too severe, maybe. I think they may shy away from it. Rolling dents out of alloy has more chance of introducing fractures than if it was a steel rim.
Dnk
it can be done but depends on the damage, i personnally wouldnt, cant you get just 1 replacement wheel are they splitrims ? can you post a picture of the damage
Nic
If you have no luck getting it fixed, I can supply a single Do Luck Double Six wheel if needed. Drop me a pm if you need details.
Chris Wilson
If the rims is spun alloy it may be possible to gently tap it into shape and have it X-Rayed for cracks after. If it's cast, and was off a Bugatti, a section could be cut out, and new section welded in, and the rim machined true, X-Rayed blah blah. If it's forged it may well tap out, it almost certainly isn't forged though. Anything can be reapaired, but to do it properly probably isn't worth it.
