But it was a built box Colin

Dont get me wrong mate if it could be done with out the Aem reliably then i would do it with a Motec or a Link mate

I'm sorry.I didn't realise that there was a difference due to the built box. I assumed as it was an auto box it would have been the same.

So, just to clarify. If it is a built box then the standard Toyota Auto Box ECU will be OK to use but if it is a standard Toyota box, then it isn't?

Mark erm...I cannot remember his second name now.

Mark Sheady maybe?

For an auto I would recommend an AEM as well, the deal muffleman is offering would be less the 2k supplied and mapped which is pretty good.

I think what he ment was that a stock box needs the shift retard to prolong its life, a built box can do without.

Ideally it would still be best to get the retard function working so that it pulls the timing on the shifts to drop the torque for both of the boxes but the built one will obviously be built to take alot of strain on the Sprag clutch so will last longer.

I'm sorry but since the pics of the Corona bottles came up I have completely lost interest in ECU's :D

I've been thinking about this for a good while now (as you probably know). Out of interest does the Link have some sort of digital input on it that when pulled high or low would be able to get the ECU to pull timing somehow, perhaps using a form of artifical rev limit perhaps not sure?

 He is very good also. Seen 2 of his Maps and they are spot on.

Oxford always has the best mappers :D

Mark harrison, Dave rowe, Fraser M

All trained at the same place as me also :)

Dave Rowe did work on my car too. A lovely guy and very knowledgeable. ;)

Yes it does Gav, you can set it to a falling or rising edge and you could set a auxilary output to ground when say 6800rpm is hit.

but having the overdrive off will cause issue's as it changes earlier :)

It could be done with a suprastick if they did a little hardware tweak for us ;)
