Now thats a better graph, i guess yours is a auto and the run was done in 4th. would be intresting if the other people posted the graphs , you can see the comparisions between the auto and 6sp cars.

Yup as Marc said the autos were done in MANU mode 3rd gear. Can you explain to me what the dip is near the beginning, is it the change over from 1st to 2nd turbo?

edit: Sorry for hijacking your thread Jay, maybe I should have started another one :innocent:

as long as everyone was happy with the day , thats what counts ..forget chasing dyno figures, they dont mean how well the car drives , i think that Andy and his farther did a good service on setting up a dyno day in yorkshire and the results were good for all the clients, there has been lessons learnt and iam sure the comments have been taken onboard with good intentions, which will impact on many successful events during the coming months.

Iam sure many people will agree with me on this matter, i myself will be attending Andy's Dyno events in the future especially when they have a prize involved :D

Agreed and I am very happy with the figure. I just like to know what the pretty lines and numbers mean :D

yeh heres mine, sorry about the quality I had to take a phone picture... seems like a smooth curve, any comments?

I wish my dyno chart was like that, it seemed the first couple of cars had etcha sketch dyno charts.

Mines was all over the place, it seemed to settle down after Jay's run iirc.

It seems the transission between the 1st turbom and the 2nd turbo is rather large , When you drive the car , you will feel the first come in hard then before it changes its as though you have hit the brakes the 2nd comes in . This is because your first turbo will be running .7bar and the second unit comes in and gives you 1.1 bar. You need to do a small mode on the first turbo to bring the power up to .9 - 1bar ten the transission will be much smoother. do a search on "1st turbo mod", you add a bleed valve on the 1st VSV unit that controls the 1st turbo actuator.

But dont give the 1st turbo to much boost as the stock ecu has not accomodated for this in the fuel map, i would say 1 bar is perfect.

Sounds like you're bang on the money there. Can't believe I've not read anything about this mod before... Going for a search now. Thanks

I went down to the first Yorkshire Dyno Day today at Miami GT, was great to see all you guys & put faces to names, & thanks to Andy & his team for their hospitality . I had a great day, even the run down & back in hot pursuit of Tom was a howl.

Onto the results, well it wasn't what I expected, graphs are:

(flywheel bhp/torque):

(wheel bhp/boost):

Runs were done in 3rd gear. Looking at it now not sure why it's showing full boost by 5250 (thats T88 territory isn't it :D).

I'm not going to get hung up on the power figures, the car is amazing on the road (enough to spin up R888's in 4th gear at 80 leptons & punish my mates 520bhp 911) which is all that matters at the end of the day.

OMG! :taped:

Wrong gear

Obviously not tied down well enough

And completely pointless...

Hope you got a refund for them being unable to dyno your car properly.

I do not think it could have been clamped down any more as I believe there was concern before the first run of the tyres rubbing on the arch.

Well there was something wrong - no dyno should have performed like that, throughout the rev range. It happening at peak torque/power maybe....but from the very outset it wasn't working...

And who starts a pull from 3250+? The car should have been started lower to get good purchase.

Michel if they had issues setting it up for Jays car i wouldn't bother taking yours when its fully mapped. Unless you want to pay £40 to ruin your £200 tyres going by how it was setup for Jay.

Just want to add im getting involved in this as the way i was spoken to earier really annoyed me by a member of the miamigt team plus i feel sorry for Jay paying for a what he got.

Not sure why im bother to help now but guess im like that.

The reading for the RPM on the runs was taking from the Tacho unit add on with the dyno dynamics. This is not wise on the supra unless you fit a ht lead between the coil and the plug as the ignitor output has lots of noise on it and can cause issue's like Jay's and the other car above. It will be even worse is the car is wasted spark also.

With the rpm signal like this it will cause the dyno to vary the load and cause all sorts of issues.

Also i see you want to be supra specialists, if so i would invest in some better fans not Gym fans as you will find that the air temps will be ridicious otherwise. This was why Jays AFR were slighty richer to just keep the cylinder coolers.

You have a very valid point Ryan , it is good of you to try and help them learn to use their dyno correctly, its a shame about the rest of the cars having such bad results on there run's. Iam sure Miami Gt will endevour to help the people involved in resolving the cost issues for there inaccurate dyno plots.

My feeling are that I don't think I'll be putting my car on any dyno anytime soon. I've had 2 readings now (630bhp & 500bhp) which I feel are probably the upmost & lowest that the car could possibly produce, & TBH neither has made me feel any different about the car.

The car is a pure animal & hopefully I'd rather take you guys out in it to experience it for yourself than just see it strapped on a dyno making a load of noise.

The dyno issue asside, there was one other reason I went on that day which was to meet some fellow Supra (and Aristo ;)) owners & I had a fantaistic day, it was great to meet you guys & gals.

I defo won't be able to make Marahm this year (it's just tooo close to the Ring trip which is turning out to be rather expensive), but I'm going to get in as much practice as I can at more local events this year.

Well said, i have a nice "high" dyno read out which im happy with. Means i can use pub talk figures and back them up.

As long as your happy with the car thats all that matters!

Shame about Marham was looking forward to seeing your car driven in anger!

:yeathat:

I have a nice figure too, 321.9bhp (at the fly :shy:)

As Jay has said I am too happy with the results, yes maybe Miami Gt on their very first dyno day (on their own) made some errors but I had a great day, I am happy and I am not going to be anal about my graph being an etcha sketch. A company can only grow and I sure that both Andy's will continue learning.

However if I was to get an etcha sketch say in a years time, then yes I would be concerned.
