ADL Mark
The aircon wheel? If it's got the belt going round it then it should be moving all the time when the engine is running, nevermind whether the air con is turned on or not. Or am I misunderstanding you? Sparky
Im guessing this is the aircon pump and the 'wheel' you're talking about is the pulley that the belt drives to make the pump work!
Ian C
The outer band of the pulley will move but the inner won't with the aircon off - it's a huge parasitic drag on the engine so there is a clutch mechanism built in that disconnectes the pump from the drive pulley until it's needed. -Ian
wile e coyote
as you turn the ac on and off you will hear a slight clicking noise from the pump pully as it engages and disangages. To check if your ac is working turn it on and turn temp all the way to cold and it should get f.....g cold inside the car
123tom123tom
the aircon was recharged just before i bought the car, but it doesnt seem to work and i looked at the ac pump and the wheel doesnt seem to be moving when the car is on, is this possible, it just looks like the belt is sliding round a stuck pulley...
