Guest sl4444
I was driving home tonight when i came round a right hand bend and all of a sudden the rear end steps out and snakes allover the place and starts to make what can only be describbed as a flat tyre noise sort of thud thud thud, hazards on and i pull into the layby just up the road, get out to find no flat tyre:search:, so i get down and give the wheel a good wobble and i was amazed to see the wheel move about 10mm in any direction:wtf:. I remove the centre cap to see what can only be discribbed as a nightmare see picture, so i tightened up the remaining 3 wheel nuts and limped home Gutted!!!! Please see other thread on stud replacement to help me out!

Wez
Isnt this normally caused by over tightening the wheel nuts?

Carl_S
Nasty. Good that you are Ok. And its maybe a warning for those who tighten their nuts with garages who dont know what they are doing. I think you are ok if you tighten by hand, but is it the pneumatic tighteners that are more hit and miss?
Guigsy
My mate has a tigra. His drivers side rear suspention gave up and he was going about 70 down the a45 at 6 in the morning and *clunk*. Next thing he knows his wheel overtakes him complete with half his suspention. He managed to pull it over on 3 wheels and a brake disk with hardly any damage to the bodywork. He then ran off to fetch his wheel which was resting against the central reservation about half a mile away
