Pre-Paid Credit Card

MRX

Recommended Posts

Anyone use one that they can recommend?

Currently I don't have any credit cards and I keep running in to problems paying for stuff online. I though one of these may help with not getting in to debt...

Cheers

I'm not sure such a thing exists, does it? Surely that would just be a debit card. A credit card will always provide goods etc on credit, meaning you pay for them after making the purchase.

Someone who knows more than me may be along soon......

Good idea for internet purchase.

You can load a normal credit with whatever amount. Of course you need to resist temptation then.:D

You just load them with cash and it means you can pay for stuff that only use Visa/Maestro etc... My bank account doesn't have any switch/visa etc facilities so this looked like a good option.

Just wasn't sure which one to go for??

I didn't know that, every day's a school day :)

Pre-paid Visa card. Completely free to setup, no hassle etc etc. Its a UK company and FSA regulated. They charge 4.5% on whatever you "load" onto the card, no other charges at all, even for multi-currency transactions.

Gaz.

Thanks Gaz, i'll give that a looky..!

Just a thought... if you have a normal credit card you can over pay it so you are in credit then use that?

Thats my problem Supragal, I dont have a normal credit card.

I heard something recently about that, apparantly the CC companies frown against people doing that (called negative equity or something??).... even more interesting is I think they refer to some FSA regulation or something when telling you that you can't "load your card up" with credit.......

or something like that
