Andy
I have a 98 TT VVTi 6 speed, I have already fitted a HKS Super Dragger CAT back, a HKS straight through (2nd CAT) and a HKS power induction kit. What's the next step? Also as a side issue, my supra dosen't feel that quick even after these mods, I had a MKIII Turbo before this and it only feels marginally quicker than that and that wasn't modded, where can I get it checked out? I'm in London. Thanks in advance.
Flavio
Pull some hoses and get a fuel cut defencer (Greddy BCC). This will increase boost and you WILL notice the difference. Flavio http://www.mkivsupras.co.uk/
Guest Martin F
A good boost gauge would be a sensible investment the stock ones in the facelift cars are allegedly not up to much.
Andy
What do you mean by pull some hosses? Your right about the stock boost gauges, it displays full or nothing.
Flavio
Go to www.mkiv.com and read through the tech articles. Flavio
Branners
but do be careful with any info they post on there. The j-spec VVTi was never available in the states and I could be wrong here but I believe it runs a MAP and MAF sensor which is different from anything the guys on mkiv.com will have seen. The VVTi engine is harder to tune than the normal twin turbo cars but there are a couple of people here who have worked on them. Chris Wilson did a lot of work on Nick Martins car so he can probably tell you what to look for. With the normal twin turbos its just a question of turning up the boost, the fueling tends to cope, but there was a discussion a while back about the VVTi having fueling problems above 14psi. Chris Wilson is up near Chester. Down this way a lot of us use Leon who is based in Watford. JB

I am able to supply the VVTi specific first cat replacement pipe, and it will mate directly to your HKS second pipe, although ideally I like to sell them in pairs. I also recommend water injection, which I can supply and fit for 370 quid. The VVTi front cat pipe is 150 quid with gasket and bolt kit, supply only. I can fit that too if you want. If it's running right it will be LOT quicker than a MKIII turbo, even a MKIII with raised boost.
