  1. got all the lights working apart from the triangle in the rev counter how do you take the rest of the dash out to get to the rev counter? looks like two screws and then are there clips or does it just pull off???? thanks for dry joint tip thats what it was! resoldered and working fine, i also found out i had an abs light so i must have abs!!! :-)
  2. sod this i'm going to bed and will think about it in the morning, thats if i get any sleep thinking about possible solutions for the problem, thanks for all your help and if anyone does come up a quick fix i'll owe you a big fat pint!!!!!!!!
  3. what about this triangle light in the rev counter can anyone shed some light on wether it comes on when the handbrake is pulled or not??i am starting to think my car is not as it should be and my bum is starting to go :-(
  4. sorry to be a pain in the arse and not really know what i'm on about but i am now learnig about a whole different pedigree of car and to make things worse i am a machanic, but i only deal with classic rolls royce and bentleys. these cars are out of my league and i do need some help, also i do not want ruin my best toy ever !!
  5. it says on the book printed in japan and has referances to left and right hand drive cars.???
  6. sorry right hand side, low oil level, low oil pressure, malfunction ind. left hand side, battery, open door, what looks like a cat warning light, seatbelt light. this is all getting confusing cos i'm looking at my owners manual and its a 1994 and mine is 93 and the light set seems to be different.
  7. no should i be getting worried? the car does have a full service history and as far as know has well looked after. is there something that is done during certain mods that buggers these lights and therefore disconnected or should i start reaching for my wallet??(credit card to be honest) :-)
  8. bugger best i check the bulbs or the connections! if it is none of those then what do i do? car seems be to fine but if it isn't it can't tell me ooooopppps. any ideas?
  9. i have just got my new toy and was wondering if any lights should come on the right hand side before you turn the key into the cranking position? after much squinting and reading the owners manual i can see that i have a check engine light, oil light and i think an oil temp light. should these lite up when the ignition is on but car is not running????
  10. also there is a stuff called tyre clean this also very good for all the black work on your car, used carefuly it is very good at bringing up your dash but make sure you have a cloth for the tyre clean and dry clean cloth for removeing imediatly after as otherwise it leaves a sticky surface for dust and we don't want that!!! also if you can get it there is a product called crystal for your windows it leaves no chalky mess and gives you that showroom finish! any more questions just ask as i am in the trade i will be happy to help! also bumper gel is very good at bringing up your dash without all that horrible silicone that ruins any chance of paintwork in the future. enjoy and thanks to all club members i will be asking questions on how remove the dash for replacement bulbs etc.......
  11. Most of the cleaners can be watered down and i would suggest this when first using them, i would also have some stuff to hand i.e get some of those squirty water bottle things for the clean water and water down some of the cleaner in the other.spray on the cleaner and with a 1" paint brush get into all the right places then very quickly spray with clean water until all the cleaner has washed off then wipe with a dry cloth and then if you want wax your wheels, sounds daft but then you can just with a dry cloth every time you want to just wipe brake dust off untill you need to do the process again!!hope this helps
  12. my advice is goto somewhere other than halfords like a motor factors for the trade, and they should do a ally cleaner for the valeting trade. try to get it in 5lts cos it will be cheaper in the long run and will last forever. last make sure you read the instructions very carefully if you leave this stuff on to long you will kill your wheels. all going well the trade stuff will remove almost anything and bring your wheels up like new!! but be warned do it wrong and pay the price. hope this helps and i will try and find out the exact name of the stuff i have (borrowed) from work :-)
  13. nice to see its not just me then :-) been reading the owners manual and found lots of things the car can do, so i will going out on my own with a full wallet for petrol (for a little while anyway) and a big grin on my face and try not to kill myself, thanks all ! P.S i have just joined the club and have heard about stickers and stuff who do you contact for these or do the contact you???
