  1. There is quite a bit of potential left in the build, fast intake (or ITB's), 6.7 stroker kit, more compression, dry sump, lots of small gains to be had here and there. There were tests done on LS1 ported cathedral heads form various speed shops and the best heads on the spec above on a fast intake 6.6 stroker with 13:1 compression and a decent cam made about 640bhp. They put stock LS3 heads on and it almost matched the best LS1 head. CNC ported big valve LS3 race heads should make even more.
  2. It's a truck motor and comes with iron heads and loads of smog stuff. Mine will have alloy heads and a plastic manifold and light weight tubular VXR manifolds. In NA guise it will be about the same as a Twin Turbo engine. But be about a foot shorter so sit much further back.
  3. Fortunately lag is not something I have to worry about
  4. Going past annoying BMW's @ 90+ leptons with back wheels smoking has a certain appeal
  5. Mine will have a welded in full cage so I think it will pretty rigid. As Warner at LRS has access to the TTE drawings Having installed a few looms and ecu's on cars with cages I went for bolt in door bars to save my rib cage from more abuse.
  6. You can have a go in it even if I don' track it I need a driver so I can map it around brunters
  7. My V-Spec got the opposite reaction. Porsches used to give up and tuck in behind me. No body would take it on. Quite disappointing really (it was only about 380 fwhp but everyone thinks all Skylines are 1000hp) None of my cars have provoked JP to come over and ask question until I got the Transporter
  8. BMW M5 4 plate LSD in mine. Craig @ DT gave it to me for helping him wire up his RX8. I'll see how that goes before the additional 8 plates are added.
  9. Yeah! That. A01B A02B is NOT a decent diff Torsens are total shite. I have a A01B in mine and couldn't under stand why I couldn't get off my inlaws gravel drive. Turns out if one wheel loses traction they go open, whats the fucking point of that?
  10. If it was the Roush version it would have been awesome
  11. I have a Tremec MG9 Hi Torque 6 speed and a BMW M5 Plate LSD Diff (possibly with the Dave Mac 6 plates per side upgrade) going in so stress is not an option. 4th = 1:1 5th = 0.8:1 6th = 0.6:1 Diff = 3.15:1 It's going to go like a cut bastard. This is why I call him Eric the half a Supra as there is not going to be much Supra left by the time I've finished with him
  12. Indeed, Steves (Fearless) switchable supercharger got my attention. Big Blower and bug catcher out the bonnet mad max style.
  13. It's very interesting that most of you don't actually want massive silly power but consider less is more. My engine is a LS2 Iron Block truck motor. Exactly the same as the alloy version but steel like the LSX. It will have an LS3 crank, h-section rods and forged pistons and LS3 big Valve CNC ported GM performance heads. Do I a) Keep it NA, high compression, big high lift roller cam and enjoy huge grunt and 600fwhp, or b) Low compression (9.2:1 0.8mm squish) turbo friendly cam and a pair of scrolls and enjoy anywhere from 700 to 1600fwhp. The compromise is build it Turbo spec and lose 100hp as an NA and then Turbo later when I get bored. With the exception of the turbo's the price is the much the same but component spec will differ in some area's (cam / Pistons). I planned a bit of drag, bit of track mainly road and as a promotional tool. I'm starting to think option A is the way to go. You have to bare in mind the torque curve is a wall from 2000 @ about 400lbs and will climb from there to about 600lbs @5250 and then do what ever the cam spec demand of it. It won't be slow but it won't drive like a traditional NA Supra either
  14. Imagine you can have the Supra you just described but with 600 to 1000+whp on tap as and when required.
  15. Next Question , where do you go to map something like that. That was done on ProTuner's DD rolling road but they had to stop as the dyno was hurting.
  16. OK, Given the best of everything you can possibly buy, brakes, tyres, suspension etc. Any Engine you like (i.e Jamie P spec ) Same Question. Think along the lines of The Dyno Torque RX7 engine (6.9 Twin Turbo 1049whp @ 1bar) in a Supra. Too Much ?
  17. It becomes undrivable. Assuming everything else is near perfect.
  18. I here still. This is the second incarnation. I was here pretty much from the beginning.
  19. You and me both mate. The LS3 project has taken a h section rod, forged piston twin turboy kinda route so I have to save up a few more pennies I'll have the BMW M5 diff done before the LS3 engine and MG9 box go in so it will be interesting to see how the 2J Auto copes with a 3.15:1 ratio
