  1. Yep, I get some serious ear ache from my missus, I am heavily involved in the MR2 scene, I organise events and I have 3 Mk1s... A hell of a lot of my time gets spent either working on the cars, attending events and socialising with the MR2 crowd. She kind of understands, but every so often she really kicks off... like this morning when I said i wanted to go drag racing at Santa Pod this weekend.. big NO NO apparently as we have a wedding and a family meal to attend I know where I'd rather be! It would be great to find a woman who is interested in Jap cars... but I reckon they are a bit thin on the ground Ollie Sky Insurance
  2. Unfortunately not if you are a new business customer.
  3. If you are an existing customer we can still do this for you. For any new business we are hopeful to have this back on board for 2008.
  4. Thanks Chingy and KaoriFan, feedback very much appreciated
  5. Jason at XS power is friendly & pretty approachable. Dont take this the wrong way, but was your email worded rudely? Sounds like you've put their backs up!!
  6. There are a few factors here, but the main points that make a difference are: Over 25 years old Max no claims bonus And also, a factor which isn't often taken into consideration is previous ownership on the vehicle. Thanks Ollie
  7. Hi, I'm glad you are happy with the quote, I also hope you are happy with the service you received when you were speaking to us. Would you be able to post up your details... type of Supra, your age, no claims etc so we can show club members we ARE able to insure under thirty year olds on Supras? Many thanks in advance Ollie Sky Insurance
  8. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Didn't we have this same conversation about a week ago? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=127382&highlight=sky&page=3 I (Sky Insurance) can still insure drivers under the age of 30. Jae
  9. What ever you do, dont crash it!!! A friend of mine had one, crashed into a picnic table... the picnic table was better off afterwards... no joke
  10. Defo a fake... seen it many times now. I too got excited when i first saw it
  11. Jazz, not wanting to discuss this on the thread... but I must must say, it would be the same with ANY insurance company... rates change on a regular basis which means we can only guarantee a quote for 30 days. I'm glad the rest of you like the picture though, made me chuckle Ollie
  12. http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/uploads/monthly_10_2007/post-4622-1192794360.jpg Clue... look at the exhaust
  13. Thanks again Dave, as I have mentioned in my pm, I have passed this on to Jae, Graham and the office manager Scott. We are very glad that you are happy with the outcome. Good luck with your search for a new car Cheers Ollie Sky Insurance
  14. Hi, my manager Jay has commented on the thread... if you want to know anything specifically please PM me and I will pass it on to Jay to answer directly Thanks Ollie
  15. Tel: 08701 121759, or drop me a PM with your name and phone number (and when to call you) and I'll get one of the team to phone you? Thanks Ollie Sky Insurance
  16. It's a fair point. My first post was a little tongue and cheek. I agree the comments made by our guy did send a slightly mixed message. We have always had trouble getting the under 30's past underwriters. In order to do it we have to convince them that everything else about the risk is fantastic, some we win some we lose. This won we lost.
  17. I think we have. Unfortunately i can't discuss an indiviuals insurance publicly, but if someone, for example, was under 25 had less than 3 years bonus and more than one fault claim in the last five years, then they would not get cover on a TT. Actually if they were 40 and had less than 3 years bonus and more than one fault claim I don't think I would cover them on a TT. Jay
  18. Blimey, you turn your back for one minute I love these threads, one person gets told there existing insuring will not up grade cover to a TT and then its “What if we have a claim, we'll be screwed.” “What will happen to my renewal” “Sky should be withdrawn!” It’s like the scene from Holy Grail, BURN HER BURN HER SHE’S A WITCH. The fact is I can still insure Supra’ for drivers under 30. There are other criteria that has to be meet first, but that has always been the case. Just because you’re over 30 doesn’t mean we will cover you, and just because you’re under doesn’t mean we won’t. Each case is looked at on its individual merits. However the post is correct I am speaking to other insurers about taking on Supra’s, so when a company does refuse to cover you I can try another, then another. Jay
  19. Hi, Please do not worry if you haven't got the receipts, it is understandable that you dont, I have a heavily modified MR2 and I dont have receipts for the mods. Please send through as much info as you can with regards to the modifications, rough price if known etc... We will need to see the colour photos and MOT certificate though. If you have any queries, please PM me and I'll be happy to help. Regards Ollie Sky Insurance
  20. If I can help with this clain in anyway, please let me know. Regards Ollie Sky Insurance
  21. I was at the Pod both days... Saturday for pleasure, Sunday business.. I was amazed at the turnout on Sunday.. I've never seen the pod so busy! I ran a 13.6 on Saturday in my Mk1 MR2 and that was with a bogged down start... very pleased with that, my first time on a drag strip!! Mucho room for improvement as well, better tyres, better intercooling and more practice should hopefully see me in the low 13s or maybe high 12s... I shocked an Intergra owner by absolutely mullering him with my rust heap!! One of my runs was agaist a Skyline with a parachute... I nearly shit myself when he went hurtling past me at the finish line at 140? mph +!! Really enjoyable weekend Cheers Ollie
  22. yep, a few of my friends use them, they are very big in the VW world... Hope that helps Ollie Sky Insurance
