  1. our company bought a floor standing lathe for 2,500 from another envelope company that closed down.the machines are good to see in action.i would like a small bench one to have a learn on.just trying to think what you could make on them.i know you could copy basic things. thanks mark
  2. thank you xxx not been too well but im still here take care love you all did i tell you im 101 years old
  3. yeah second that. if you remove the trac fuse out of fuse box that can shorten the gearbox life. but you can get a spare autobox for 200-250.worth giving it a try i think.IMO
  4. i remember kevin turvey too.also anyone rember filth rich and catflap i taped that off tv and there was only 1 series.there was a thing on tv yesterday about the young ones and how they got started out and went onto other things with monty python crew
  5. its just been in newsgroups both series.i like to own original peter kay dvd`s as you can watch over and over again and always see bits you miss.there is a newsgroup with nothing but british comedys.
  6. it just sounded intresting thing to learn as a hobby.next door neighbour is a engineer.dont you get to make new design parts.or is it just making spares.
  7. hi just been building a small workshop and getting into buying tools. got loads of hand tools and things i keep buying for car. recently bought 10" compound miter saw bench drill bench vice jigsaw with laser guide have had bench grinders x2 and 2x dremel type tools i used for polishing but burned the motors out on them.so going to buy a proffesional polisher.looking round for what other tools to buy.been looking into mini metal laves and stumbled on a great site with a guy who has a bench top cnc machine.some other the stuff they can do look great.the guy made a mini engine.he has some videos of his machine in action. is anyone else into metalwork.is it easy to get into for a beginner.looks intresting what you can make. have a look at his site http://www.tedatum.com/thms/ there a few videos of his projects.

  15. what about the vipers lol whats happening on totb5 front its a bit quiet?
  16. why de-cat if you worried about turbos blowing.you all know the ceramics are a weak point.you cant have your cake and eat it.if you are prepared to accept the turbos going to go sooner or later.you can pick up a set of stock turbos for 250 pounds.when i had a all in 1 3" decat pipe i was boosting to a crazy 1.5bar and knew it was mental so had to get boost down. i used to get 1000 degrees egt`s with stock jap fuel pump.changed over to a walbro and egt`s have come down and feels safer. if you worried about blowing your turbos just dont de-cat.

  19. there is houses not far from airfield.sound must carry.think he said limit was 105 decible limit.a few cars will get a shock at totb
  20. there was a cool mr2 with t88 setup and et streets was an asian lad.he was a sound guy.his car was too noisy for the day so he could not run.shame as i bet it would have gone well.lots of custom work.said it had run a 9 in japan.a few cars had full on slicks on the fwd cars
  21. went to elvington today with rich.was an ok day apart from rain on and off.quite a few good cars.met Simon P who drove from south london to elvington to compete. he did a great time of 12.3 in damp conditions on drag radials with no burnouts.he just missed out on qualifying for final shoot out round.he did his 12.3 after the qualifying time. there was a few supras there.quite a lot of skylines and loads of honda civics.also a hyabus turbo drag bike and a caterum type kit car with holeshot megabusa turbo engine. great time on stock turbos in wet for simon.beating a few single turbo supras times.sounds like his car has a bit of power and he knows how to drive it.you should get your name down for totb list. great day apart from weather. met a mate with a single turbo cossie he was saying it has about 450hp and 1000cc injectors.engine was very clean and blingy. good day out
  22. slight update till we get full time slip from slowboy dees time on his last run today was still a 9.4 with a 0-60 1.48 dead unfortunatly when we used laughing gas on this run and the clutch started sliping in second, where the nos is programed to come in which did not help our time on this run, so more to come pos .2/.4 would be better!! and our car is still geared for top speed, santa pod told us our 9.4 was the fastest run at santa pod by an import keith has run a 9.3 at totb which was when he won last year regards alex ps thanks for posting our time so quickly dee just broke the fastest time for a jap import at santa pod 9.4 with low 0-60 ft times will post new times later today regards alex
