It is the vielside style bumper with the section taken out and smoothed,He originally got the kit from AB styling over in south wales,Hes also got a carbon bonnet with the sides from the swage line painted up the same colour as the car which looks pretty trick too!
-
Being honest that shouldnt really be too much of a problem when gettting the car painted up,Do you guys(Dumb question) know of the uk FATF replica?Well that belongs or did belong to a guy called mark but the work was carried out by some good friends of mine at Avon Custom (Shameless plug!) and I taken the windows out of that, when it does come time remove the interior trim panels around the rear quaters and that should make the technicians life easier and also reduces the risks of them getting cut to s**t
-
Actually,If any of you guys out there have ever spoke to or know jules truss from fast car mag his purple soop has got ford sierra windscreen mouldings round it and they were hanging out last time i saw it! I also like spotting trains on the weekends and having tea and scones with my gran!!

How was the finished result Elliot???
-
Mine went pete tong on 84,000k and i was told that its about average for ceramic turbos to give up after that sort of mileage,I just guessing from what a few people have said that im just unlucky to of had them go pop when they did
-
Thats ok mate,The branch will be contacted and let me know how it goes!!
-
Unless your running silly amounts of boost the difference between how long they last wouldnt be a great deal different whichever way you do it,If theyre gonna blow theyre gonna blow
-
The average life expectancy on stock jap spec ceramic turbos are around 80,000k,doesnt make no odds what pressure you run with them, just noticed youve got a uk spec which means steel turbos and hopefully a lot longer life!

Jesus fu**ing christ that is hooooooooooge!

Yeah ive got a moddest rollcall down my bonnet and a few on the rear spats,When my mate got them made for me I only wanted one set to do the bonnet with but he turned up with 2 sets so better than bin them I put them down on there just to fill up some space! This is a slighly more obvious shot with my mums 2.5TT soarer!

Ha ha read YOUR last post on this thread!!! Yes mate we do deal with churchill insurance and I think you will only have to pay a nifty, done a quick stock count at our distribution centre earlierand they have 12 windscreens in stock and 2 trims so that shouldnt be a problem For everyone elses reference heres the partcodes on all the glass for the mkiv N/S front door 8284LBLC2FDW O/S front door 8284RBLC2FDW N/S Rear quaterlight 8284LBLC2RQZ O/S Rear quaterlight 8284RBLC2RQZ HEATED REAR 8284BBLC The prices between each window vary on side to side which is dependant upon which one is broken more often, green glass is listed but ive never seen a supra with green glass in it,Like i said though gimme a bell and i will sort out top service for you!
-
The last and only time ive had to stick mine on a recovery truck was when I had the rear caliper seize up and shred the pad in no time,Ive got a lower (split)splitter and I reversed my car up onto a kerb in a local latby and drove it straight onto the back of the bed.
-
Just out of general interest but are or would the TRD kit be made of frp as opposed to fibreglass like the one he is advertising????
-
Well being honest I wasnt talking about mine specifically but more in general but most of you have answered my question anyway so thanks very much for all your kind comments!!!
-
Right i dunno if this has gone up before but with the quickness of the board moving and how many people post up I thought that I might ask the question what do peole think of vinyl?Ive got some work done on mine that my brother designed that sets it out a little as i havent got masses of money to chuck at hoooge kits and stuff so I would like everyones opinion on vinyl in general and dont be afraid to say what you feel!

If there are proper stone chips then these can be repaired on your insurance on most fully comp policies and these can be done free of charge,if there are lots of little chips then you can either contact your insurance company and let them deal with it or contact AUTOGLASS directly and have the screen replaced saying that because if the pitting on the screen that it makes night driving hazardous and it needs replacing, the absolute most you will pay is £100 but most companies run a £50 or £60 excess that does not effect your no claims bonus
-
I work for AUTOGLASS and have done for the last 6 years,Im a technical supervisor in Swindon and I normally check every now and again to make sure the parts for the car are in stock,The only window we have to go to toyota for is the o/s rear quater and thats the most expensive piece at over £700!,when its all booked in gimme a bell and i will ring your local branch and get them to see the jobs done right!
-
Right matey boy youve spoke to the right person here!!! The windscreen fitted in the supra is blue with a green top tint(about 4 inches down from the top of the screen) The product code is 8284ablgn and also make sure they bring out a 8284asmc with them as that is the trim set for the car,If you get autoglass out to do it they should have the screen on the shelf at the distribution centre in leicester so it should be here in a few days tops, but make sure when they come that you check the trim that they have before he goes anywhere near the car as alot of fitters tend to use a trim which goes on easier but isnt the right one for the car and will look crap after, when he does come and take the screen out he will be using a kent knife and a few other varied tools,be warned to tell him that a 3quaters of an inch kent knife will touch the roof lining if its not pushed through right, also tell him to use white top primer on any bits where it may have gone down to the bare metal when he removes the screen as otherwise without it it could lead to rust problems a few years down the line,Any other queries pm me your number and i will give you a call! cheers Tim

The company that used to service my car had devised a frame to put it in and resolder all the joints with,It took them about 10 minutes and thats about the only thing they were really good for! Just the solder joints have gone dry so if you know someone whos dead handy with the iron then im sure they could sort it for you

On the turbo to intercooler side its two and three quater inch and on the intercooler to plenhiem chamber its three inch but I do have a fmic though but it looks the same size as standard anyway, deffinatly right on the turbo to ic side though for sure Silicon is just what the hose is made from but just make sure that the hose your getting is reasonably strong to stop it collapsing with any pressures in either positive or negative pressure
-
Thats given me food for thought as my car does have an uprated pump and it does utilise a relay to run constant 12 volts, thanx for the heads up absxxxx!

Last sunday when i was doing my usual drag from Swindon to Bristol on the M4 the weather was absolutely bo**ocks and as per usual im sat behind the road captains on the outside lane who think that because they are breaking the speed limit they are perfect entitled to just sit there,my car was getting a fair amount of surface spray hittng it when I pulled off onto the A46 the car started spluttering and misfiring for a few minutes then it cleared,Ive noticed this once or twice before but most of that was down to dodgy coil packs which have since been replaced,Does anyone else get similar problems with thiers when the weather is a bit crap or have I got something wrong?? Answers on a postcard and send them to the usual address Regards Tim

Darren Adams car : want opinions on the new wheel arches
stt replied to Bobbeh's topic in Supra Chat
Being absolutely honest I think you should leave the rivet holes exposed,I think with it all filled in it woulkd spoil the lines of the car but with them visable it will look like they are there to serve purpose and make the car. Well just my 2ps worth -
Mine ran 0.9 bar when I got it,It did have a 5zigen exhaust with both cats in at the time,Im now running 1.2 bar with one cat, cant see that it will do any harm but I will no doubt be shouted down if im wrong!
