  1. Why the hell would a car bought from Japan with no service history possibly be less risky than a car bought from the UK?
  2. It's nice to ditch that 10ft pole though isn't it
  3. All looks identical except for the rubber ducky itself. The aerial unit looks the same, brackets etc. I definately didn't cut anything though.. I errr, what did I do.. hmmm. I pushed the inside-grommet bit (the sleeve bit) up from inside the wing, 'cause I couldn't push it in from the top as it was too tight. I heated it up in some almost-too-hot water and pushed it up from the inside. Don't know if that's going to make any difference to the outcome though. The angle was really just controlled by bending the metal bracket so that it had a curve in it, as seen here: http://www2.css-networks.com/stubby/3.jpg
  4. Mine wasn't upright at first. I bent the metal bracket, which straightened it up.
  5. Hmm. Yours is a little bit different to mine. I didn't have to cut anything either http://www2.css-networks.com/stubby/1.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/stubby/4.jpg http://www2.css-networks.com/stubby/5.jpg
  6. According to this, it'll be exactly the same as fifth gear in a 6spd manual, fourth gear in a 5spd manual, or third gear in an A340E.
  7. It's either power supply (bad battery, loose battery connections), or burnt out solenoid contacts on the starter motor. There's a writeup with loads of pictures on the starter motor on here somewhere. My guess is that it'll be the starter solenoid contacts.
  8. Supras with CATs probably already meet Euro-II.
  9. How bizzare. On that very day, or the day before, I was thinking about my old boss from a computer shop many years ago. He had a Carlton GSi 3000 which I always liked. I then went onto thinking about the Lotus Carlton that he liked, and thought I'd do some googling on specs when I got home...
  10. Oh, that's him is it. Amanda's 14yr old daughter thinks it's great They listen to it in the car from the mobile phone. I just turn the radio up very loud to drown it out. Very much a little kids thing, for sure. Little kids with bad taste.
  11. Nah, I agree there is a delay if you're just driving in normal auto mode. If you're pootling around at 30mph then you stomp on the pedal, there's easily a half second delay because you're driving around in fourth gear and it has to drop down. Driving down country lanes in MANU 1st/2nd though is a totally different story.
  12. Nice arrows. What did you do them with?
  13. Wow, sensual, not. What a tosser!
  14. I bought one for £100 once, then I got arrested shortly after.
  15. There is a degree of control through the accelerator. There are two kick-down switches which will make the box drop down a gear or two, and also how far you push the throttle will also control how the box responds, as well as engine output of course. A faulty box might slip, just like a slipping clutch on a manual. There are quite a few clutches in the auto box.
  16. That's right. But you don't need manual mode to make it rev up to the redline. It will do that anyway. If you push hard on the throttle then the box will go right up the revs before changing. It's fairly intelligent y'know

    Stolen

I googled "Mercedes Atigo" and it said "Do you mean Mercedes Atego", so I had a look and that looks like a lorry. So is it one of them then?
  18. They are probably saying to edit the hosts file because they assume you're a bit thick and won't know about working on the DNS records, or that you don't run your own DNS. Basically, working on the hosts file covers all eventualities. But as you run your own DNS, and you're not thick, it makes sense to do it in DNS and have done with it.
  19. I don't know about the hosts file, but I would have thought it would make more sense to enter any records into DNS instead, unless it's just stuff you don't want applied to everyone, in which case just use the OU-specific logon script to copy over the hosts file, presuming the client has sufficient filesystem access to do that. As far as the trusted sites via Group Policy, not something I've done but it looks like it'd be here: http://www2.css-networks.com/gpo.jpg
  20. I agree it's probably to do with the ticket data not being on the sytem right away. However, Trafford's parking services website simply says "Sorry, it's not on the system yet, try again later". Even if they just emailed a confirmation, and then emailed again to say there was a problem then that'd be a start.
  21. LOL That's the point. If you do it wrong, they don't tell you that. They still take the money.
